Nice reaction as always, what I love the most about this song is the fact that the lines in which they describe the battle aren't written from Joakim, but are actually taken from the diary of a soviet soldier and simply twisted a bit to fit into the lyrics. This shows just how much sabaton loves history and how hard they try to be as accurate as possible

Same with Gallipoli, Aussies got taught our side of it but the Sabaton History Channel, showed what Turkey went through. They had it as bad as we did. I love watching that KZfaq channel because Indie is such a great story teller. You should watch the Seven Pillars of Wisdom episode. Poor Indie lol. He played Lawrence of Arabia in that video and his camel story, so funny because i know that would happen to me for sure lol.

It's not just Russia's role that gets entirely overlooked by the US so that they can claim they won it single handedly. It's also every other allied country....in particular the colonies (South Africa, New Zealand, India etc..) that get entirely overlooked and never mentioned by the US. And anyone who is intellectually honest will admit that Russia's victory on the Eastern front is almost certainly what allowed the Allies to win.

Communism was hell for the satellite states and Russia itself. It was only good for Stalin and the others in power. And yes it is sad that so many young Russian men died but what about the stuff we went through? The brutal island hoping campaign? Normandy? Pearl Harbor? Guadalcanal? Midway? The savagery of this battle was above and beyond most of the battles in World War II. The fight for the Grain Elevator alone was extremely vicious. 50 Russian soldier defended it for 3 days against a German division and basically defended it to the death. Then there was Pavlov's house and on and on and on with these little little battles within such a big battle. Incredible heroism from the Russian soldier during this time.

And also.. I think in most cases, the Sabaton fans are happy with you choosing the live performances, but they have a couple of videos that it's just a sin to miss. That's the case with "Night witches" and "No bullets fly", the story videos are just so good. And also "Bismarck" and "Steel commanders" that are of a quality that could only be described as epic. They have a few others that are really good too, "To hell and back", "Fields of Verdun", "Uprising" and probably some more that I have forgotten, but they are not on the level of the big 4.

Two things, 1. Mratnimiat reversed is “Ta i min tarm” which is Swedish Take my guts” referring to the courage and bravery the Russians had during the fight. 2. “Play the score of the Damned. Know the devil within.” is referring to Order No. 227 ‘Not one step back’ that Stalin declared. Speaking of Stalin, the devil is Stalin in this song cause of course Stalin was an avid atheist.

Love that you pointed out that 🤟 . Hitler's mistake was going in to Russia when his general's told him stay focused on West and take UK. But he made the fatel move to push in to Russia and the downfall for Germany in ww2 was the battle of Stalingrad. Russia turned the ww2, specialy at Stalingrad where they sent in people in to the front where 1 out of 3 had a rifle, 1 fall the other 1 picked up the gun! Love from 🇸🇪

In the US, it was the Cold War following WWII that caused us to down play the role of the USSR in the conflict. With the immanent threat of war it was not politically advantages to recognize the sacrifice and heroism of the political adversary. It is not right, but it is what happened.

3 or so minutes in as the music starts, and I'm sitting here preparing to cry from an overload of empathy. Yes, I'm Finnish. Yes, my grandfather fought in the Winter wars (he refused to tell about it because it was a horrible time nd he did things he never wanted to remember, and actually looked down on those who told stories as "people who never truly experienced hell"), but as Sabaton portrays it from a soldiers or civilians point of view, I'm not biased by the governmental bs sending men and women to the front like meatshields to defend their ideology. I feel the fear, sorrow, anger and hopeless denial of every one who died in vain for the sake of the priviliged few. Edit: I, some times, want to find a desolate place where I can scream until my voice is nno longer there, because I often feel the screams of the past demanding their voice.

The famous quote about the war being won with British brains, American brawn, Russian blood. It was the Russians who turned the tide of the European theatre before the Americans had even mobilised. Britain had won in the sky and were beating the Italians in Africa but didn't really have a way of going on the offensive after the fall of France at the start of the war.

If you wanna check out Nicola Sedda. He has bigger vocal range than Dimash. Actually his highest note is F10. That makes him the singer with the biggest voice in the world. Because his vocal range is (C1-F10). Scientists even say that the highest note that an ordinary person can make is up to F10. If you don't believe me, watch the video on his KZfaq channel, where he demonstrates his entire vocal range. Initially, start with the song "The Miracle". You will ask why I tell you all this, because you are a fan of rock music, and he himself is a rock star, because sometimes in some of his videos he makes the devil horn sign, and in all of his songs you will hear incredible heavy guitar playing, but sometimes his voice changes from rock singing to high classical or opera singing. which even goes beyond the limit of normal singing. The music he makes is the style of bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Dream Theater and others. I hope you like and enjoy Nicola Sedda vocal range.

As an Italian I am sorry that our countries were at war, in the battle of Stalingrad there were also the Italians. According to the most recent estimates, the USSR lost 28 million people during the war, including 11 million soldiers, all other civilians. Axis nations, in particular Nazi Germany, wanted to exterminate the Slavic people, for them they were like Jews, they already had plans to exterminate 70% of the Russian population, the Soviets fought to defeat a genocidal dictatorship that wanted to annihilate them . We can say that your grandfather also fought for your right to exist in a certain sense. Greetings from Palermo in Sicily. P.S. In Italy we have streets dedicated to Stalin, Lenin, Stalingrad, Leningrad etc ... especially in northern Italy.

Everybody but the losers think they won WWII. Russia sacrificed the most ppl against the Germans (as an American, Russian soldiers are honored and never forgotten). The US Navy sank every single Japanese warship from aircraft carriers to battleships, down to corvettes. Every trade ship and most of their fishing boats. US Army, Marines, Brits, Ausssies and Kiwis took every island in the Pacific and pushed the Imperials back to the Home Islands. My Da was first wave, Okinawa. No Russians. He and his buddies took it. Thank God for the Bombs afterward. Everybody did their part. For lack of one, everything would have fallen apart.

But the post war American (and western Europe) stories weren't true eather. Like TIC said, the truth is in the debate. I Always loved Sabaton.
