A fabulous song about an incredible group of men. Most do not realize that Swiss pikemen were some of the most respected, feared, and sought after mercenaries in the medieval period. Swiss mercenaries guarded the royal courts of France, Prussia, Saxony, Genoa, Sardinia, and other European countries. They served as front line troops in the armies of many European powers. Their dedication to their employers is shown in the Sack of Rome when they sacrificed themselves to ensure the escape of the Pope even though their ties to him were just as paid soldiers. Great reaction, and keep rocking Sabaton. So many great history lessons left to hear.

Wait, who remembers the swiss guard?... each time one visits the Vatican or even just watches a video from there or Rome it should be difficult to NOT see them. Glorious bois of ours faithfully doing their duty. Deus vult!

I'm a follower of Odin but I have to give props to the swiss guards. I'm german but Germany was an germanic country but the germanics also believed in Odin or Wodan like the nordic countries like Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, Norway. Odin was called in the north and the germanic countries like todays Germany, England, Spain, Italy and more, they called Odin Wodan. Freya was Odins wife and Thor was their son.
