TOMAS HAAKE IS OBSESSED WITH HIS 21" AAX X-TREME CHINESE
Tomas Haake is Obsessed with writing lyrics. Fitting words to the complex music of Meshuggah is what he loves to do. When he needs a break, he turns to his other Obsession: fishing. Hooked since the age of 4, its become his antidote to the madness of life as a rock drummer. But back onstage, it's all about his 21" AAX X-Treme Chinese. The perfect combination of musicality vs. aggression, it's the only China Tomas plays.

Thomas doesn't just write lyrics, he writes pure poetry. Still can't believe I got to have over an hour conversation about everything I could think of with him three years ago at a festival. Great guy, even greater artist. One of my top 5 influences as a drummer/musician, most definitely.

the motorcycle is a yamaha midnight star xv1900 european model. its a hell of a bike. we got the same bike in america but with more variations since americans love cruiser bikes.

He's playing "Marrow" at the end when in the studio, and he's playing "Do Not Look Down" with the band on stage earlier in the clip. "Marrow" is the best song on their new album Koloss in my humble opinion. I happen to like everything this band has ever done.

@@holygroove2 Nice. I'm a pretty new Meshuggah fan. My favorites are currently Demiurge and Pravus.

@@minicello231 Yup, you are new. Most people like Demiurge for the vibe. Pravus is fun. Chaosphere is my favorite because it is absolutely brutal. Nothing is close second. I have my own personal list, but you seem like you'd dig Catch 33. If not, then check Nothing or Chaosphere. Obzen is awesome...nothing that this band does is lame. Nothing. I'm being picky when I rate their albums.

For real, he does speak good English. Excellent English actually - he speaks it better than I do and English is the only language I know how to speak :P And you can't even hear the Swedishness in his voice either
