I am from South Africa and am so affected by the passing of Kobe and his daughter Gigi. The most heartbreaking for me is seeing what a loving dad and husband he was ( having lost my dad when I was 11). Safe back home with Jesus. You were a world changer. My heart grieves for Vanessa and their beautiful daughters. Xxx00xx

I wasn't really a fan of the WNBA after the "original 8" Cleveland Rockers left. I hope for an expansion. But Sabrina has brought me back to watching the WNBA and will continue to watch her and the Liberty. She is a transcendent talent to the league and will continue watching her and the rest of the ladies of WNBA. Thank you Sabrina for making this sport exciting for all, and to men like me, making the WNBA exciting again!

I wonder how so many people outside of Kobe's circle had such an "emotional" impact, and yet knew so little about him other than he played for the Lakers and won championships. It's very strange, like if you got tears streaming out, you'd think you would have at least read a book about him, or know about things he struggled with, like his relationship with his parents. I'm referring to some of the comments in here btw, not the lady in the vid.

Who are you to judge her? She lost her husband and daughter! It is true they lost their son but Kobe was estranged from his parents for over a decade before his death because they disapproved of his marriage with Vanessa because she was Latina. They also took it upon themselves to pawn and sale memorabilia he gifted them. She can heal and forgive as she sees fit. I learned a long time ago that Blood doesn't make you family! Loyalty and love make you family. Everyone who spoke and celebrated his life were his family. They are the people who he let in his life and the people who were loyal to him. They are the family he CHOSE!

No, it doesn't. It sounds like an incredibly talented young woman paying tribute to her much love mentor and his daughter. It took a lot of courage to speak in front of the thousands of people in the Staples Center that day, not to mention the millions watching on TV.
