After 2007 WC, Tendulkar hit second peak in his career which lasted till the end of 2011 WC where he scored truckload of runs in both formats across all conditions...

After 2007 the cricket bats became more heavier and thicker with same width to facilitate the t20 hitting. Thus after 2007 t20 wc the temperament of batting changed forever. Now days it seems very easy to score 18 of 5 balls..and frequesntly scores used to cross 300. Also dominance of Aussies came down after that t20 defeat in wc!!

@@zackkhan4538 yes he shd ve retired from test cricket after 2010-11 SA tour or at least after the 2011-12 Aus tour... His test record would've looked much better... But still he averaged 33 in his last 23 tests which is not bad considering his age... Kohli on the other hand is averaging less than 30 in his last 25 tests, that too when he's not even 35...

Yup gem of an innings but this was no where near prime Australia with warne and McGrath retiring early in 2007 and no Gillespie in side the bowling was pretty average except for the fact that lee was in very good form

Like Brian Lara as well, many years before this Sachin announced himself to the world in Sydney....he went from being a good young player to a GREAT young player. Beautiful historic ground. It is one of those grounds that big names and great players love.

I think sachin scored a 100 in his every tour of aus except for 2011. He scored 100s at Perth and sydney in 91, 100 in mcg in 99, 241 in scg in 2004, 100s at Adelaide and scg in 2008.
