So given the fact we have more guards on the team I don't see a big issue with Carter not being ready earlier in the season. This gives Monte time to showcase other players before the trade deadline.

For Carter, what’s good about this is that if he starts off slow or just down right bad, he has the built in excuse that he missed training camp, game reps, or the good ole “it takes time to come back a [insert whatever injury]”, etc….Not too shabby.

It’s pretty easy, when it’s your turn you just make a call and tell the person on the other line the name of the player you’re drafting

They knew what they were getting into and were confident he'd recover, so they picked him. It's not that deep. He's not the first player to ever have an injury for crying out loud. There have been plenty of players that have red shirted their entire rookie season and been fine, and players that fell in the draft because of injuries like OG and MPJ that good teams benefited from taking a chance on. It's disappointing to not see him play right away as a fan, but you don't draft players for summer league.

Couldn't Devin be sent to Stockton as soon as he is cleared to play so he can get reps and get up to speed? Seems like that could be good for him if he misses substantial time.

@badnewssourgrapes the only reason I'm concerned is we may just keep huerter now and wait till the deadline to move him, if we do move him. Guess that's not a terrible thing. Some contenders may need more shooting at deadline

I know Jason Williams put us on the map, but he wasn't here long enough and wasn't accomplished enough as a King to have his 55 retired. Even Bibby's 10 wasn't retired either.

@@YoBrand15 He was the 13th pick which I understood the Kings tried to shop. Keon is looking good and I like Jones.. he really got in shape, plus we picked up that pg from Minnesota the other day.

@scoobeedo991 yeah but imo him and Keon are our best backup prospects. More so than Mclaughlin and Jones. Carter has a ton of potential and can help immediately with defense and rebounding. He had more blocks than the entire kings team last year lol
