God bless you man. When I first saw this movie, I loved it. The metaphors/symbolism are so obvious to anyone who knows what is actually going on. I was a tad more naive then, and thought maybe the directors/writers were trying to show us some truth. Alas, it is just more programming. Showing us what they are doing without admitting to it. The old vampire trick. They have to ask to be let it. Keep on keeping on brother.

@Sir CroakAlot This is the kind of projection the left always does. They say, "Oh, look at the kind of evil the right wing may do in the near future" while endorsing left wing candidates doing those things currently. Watch the movie, "V for Vendetta", compare what the government does in that movie to what's going on now, and note the author is still a left winger.

Ironically, Vladimir Lenin had the exact same view as Hydra. He too wanted to take away people's freedom in order to create a utopian society, supposing that he alone had the intelligence and wisdom to do so because he thought that the workers he claimed to fight for were too stupid to know what was really best for them. If you watch movies just for the villain speeches, you'll always see the villain get an opportunity like this to explain why doing horrible things is justified, because people=bad. If you go meta with your thinking you'll notice that it's a speech to convince you, the movie goer, not a speech for the movie hero. It's designed to make you say, "well, they aren't wrong. They're just taking it too far. People do = bad." The world is that villain moment for real right now, and too many people are accepting the real villain speeches.
@Vossenator

Some of the best and most memorable villains are those that aren't "wrong" about their reasons but are certainly wrong about their actions and solutions. Thanos: Right about resources being limited and out of control population being a problem but wrong about genocide as a solution. Hydra: Right about people not being trusted with own freedom and being willing to give it up for security but wrong about establishing authoritative measures and committing mass assassinations to do it. Killmonger: Right about rich nations like Wakanda having the ability to help those who are unfortunate but wrong about wanting to do through military force. The Flag Smashers: Right about people not being bound only by nation boundaries and that we should focus on helping humanity but wrong about committing acts of terrorism to do it.

I think V for Vendetta aged pretty well too, and has pretty good emphasis on this sort of thing as well, if you want to discuss that too. A manufactured crisis in the form of using a virus to scare everyone enough to trade their freedom for security and allow the High Chancellor and his Norsefire party to implement their authoritarian policies without any opposition. V's speech also feels way too close to home, now: "He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent."

Look at the furthest left, "the ones who actually believe what they are saying " they're mostly all under 35. They have successfully bred a whole generation through fear and intimidation that truly want to give up freedom. They would rather the government protect, take care of and think for them than to protect, take care of think for themselves. The world is never going to be like pre-Covid.... That was the last domino that needed to fall. Everything is in place for them now, it's just a matter of (in the US) them getting our weapons. Then 5-10 yrs. max. The Incredible Hulk is always seen as one of the worst mcu movies and I don't see why. Yes the villain is not interesting like most mcu films. Yeah the CGI didn't age that great. Yeah the movie could've been longer to give more time to the characters instead of being forced to be under two hours. But overall the film is still good. Ed Norton is much better as Bruce Banner then Ruffalo ever will be. Ruffalo always looks and sounds like he just took a nap before shooting. He always emotes the same in almost every scene. Norton is a huge fan of the character in the original comics and it shows. I also think that General Ross is a pretty good character in both this movie and his future mcu appearances. It's pretty clear that the original plan was for Ross to be the villain of the sequel but that never happened. I also think the romance is more believable then in the 2003 Universal Hulk movie.

@@NinjaKnight I understand the logic of trying to play a character who's constantly trying to surpess their emotions and be calm, but Ruffalo doesn't do it very convincingly. Norton really looks like he's trying to keep it all together.

I'm convinced RDJ is a closet conservative, or at least has some closeted conservative views. He just pretends to go along because he wants to keep working. It's a shame Hemsworth keeps going along with making the character that made him into a star into a cucked laughingstock. And I think Renner's the type of guy that will go along to get along, but wouldn't have a problem saying fuck off and moving on if they tried pushing him.

Honestly I'm still remembering how RDJ cut off the rest of the cast members of the MCU from social media and said it was time to "move forward" . Nice segue from fictional movie, to current events! The only problem with movies like this is how they portray the bad buys, as skull faced maniacal people, rather than just regular people. In fact the people who think this shit up for real are less than extraordinary in every way. We see their faces everyday on TV and they look pretty normal. Even the Evil One behind all of it is just a common angel, beautiful to look at, but ugly through and through. He like all these nuts couldn't deal with his own lack of "special-ness". Sound familiar?

Honestly I can see why Christopher Markus and Stephen McFreely (writers of cap america movies , Infinity War, and Endgame) left the MVU after Endgame. It's pretty clear that Kevin feige is a massive control freak over the way the script is written. By the time Endgame came around they were probably tired of the interference and left. You think it was their idea to have Thor and his buddies play Fortnite? Or for Hulk to dab? Those were studio notes Forced into the film.
