I really like Quadjets and Trijets, especially 747-400, Lockheed TriStar and A380 (and A340, but never travelled on that one) ...but their time is over. "Sad but true"... Rock on avgeeks!

maybe in a few decades they perhaps might really be needed. The A380 arrived at the wrong time. to late to compete with the 747 and to soon because the demand of industrializing massive populations like India and China is not yet there. Maybe in 2050 we will see a A380 of some sort but probably as a twin engine aircraft.

As I noted in your statement that Emirates is planning for the A380 to remain in service into the mid 2030's. I am deeply suspicious that it will not be long. I am can see the A380 being in service for four to five more years for most of the fleet and the last ones retired before 2030. It is because of Emirates history of using aircraft only for ten or so years and 2 heavy maintenance intervals.

Still, with having the aircraft for around 10 years the last ones delivered could fly until the 2030s, or in other words: They aren’t going to retire these newer aircraft after only 5 years. Also, with ongoing 777X delays Emirates has no choice but to keep their A380s operational for some time. Remember that it’s their statement, not just an assumption or so, but Emirates retirement plans which are plans which won’t change that fast

@@farangtravels3956 as a business it failed, as an aircraft it had some of the most technically advanced systems ever installed on an passenger aircraft such as EHA’s/EHBA’s so an accident like UA232 should never happen again and was loved by most passengers for the space you had even in economy. Some of the tech from the A380 was then retrofitted to the A320/A330 like the BUSS and the BCM on the enhanced models of the A330. Plus everything was then added to the A350 and some of it enhanced even further

Have you travelled business class on Emirates? Poor food Pointless on-board bar area. Awful food in Dubai Business class lounge. 5 x the price of economy.. I would point you in the direction of Virgin Premium... Far better value
