The Fitbit web dashboard is set to shut down next month as Google shifts its focus entirely to the Fitbit mobile apps for Android and iOS.
Starting July 8, users will no longer be able to access the Fitbit.com dashboard via web browsers.
The mobile apps, which received a redesign last fall, will serve as the primary platform moving forward.
Google is framing this transition as a way to concentrate on delivering more valuable insights to users.
In a statement, Fitbit explained, "We launched Fitbit with the Fitbit.com web dashboard to offer users a new way to interact with and log their data.
Since then, we introduced the Fitbit app, a robust health and wellness app that includes the features users love about our Fitbit.com web dashboard and many other features that were exclusively developed for the app.
Users were also asked to ask for help if they needed any help finding any feature in the Fitbit app.
Google assures that all details and logging for activities, nutrition, sleep, and weight will remain available in the Fitbit app.
The shutdown of the web dashboard isn't unexpected, as the site has not seen any significant update in quite some time, there was even an outage in mid-April.
