It’s crazy how similar wild & domestic k-9s still are. They just adapt to their surroundings. My dogs always steal blankets and pillows to build the ultimate cozy nest (they obviously learned this from ancestors). And Weave similarly has adapted and learned to incorporate domesticated life in her den!

If I were to compare her behavior to typical dog behavior... it seems to me that she is nesting and hoarding the toys could be her dealing with a false pregnancy. I had a friend who's Pitbull had a false pregnancy and the vet recommended her to get her dog 4-5 new basic toys that looked like small mammals. She treated them like her babies until a few months later when the hormones wore off and the she was fine. That would also explain why she is VERY protective of her new den full of her "babies".
