I was raised in a Christian home and I ran away at 17. I thought my life was boring and restricted and so I just left with no plan. I got pregnant at 18 and my life changed. I needed God. I completely turned my life around and it wasn't easy but it was worth it. Now that child is 22 and in vet school. God blessed me. Thank God my parents planted that seed for the Lord in me because when I cried out to God in desperation he knew me. And I knew his voice. My prayer is that the seed in Zay grows and he knows Gods voice in the chaos.

For whoever is confused by this video, let me just explain the whole situation simply with facts. 1) Zay travelled by bus from Peter's home in Charlotte to visit his mother in Virginia near DC. He did not give much heads-up to anyone about this trip. Apparently he was talking with his mom via phone calls recently. His mom is a recovered addict and works currently as a nurse. 2) Sometime during the trip, Zay tells Peter that he won't be returning, so Peter packs up Zay's stuff in the closet. 3) During Zay's trip to visit his mom, his mom apparently made him work in manual labor (doing gardening work), and she bought him a very expensive ($400+) ring, which he now wears. He also dyed his hair to a teal colour. 4) Peter + kids travel to pick Zay up from his mom's city 5) They all drive directly to Zay's new home to drop him off. So, Zay never returns to Peter's home after leaving on his trip to visit his mom (!). 6) Zay's new home: he is staying in Raleigh with his friend, who he met online 4 years ago, and the friend's mom. The friend is 17 years old and dropped out of high school 2 years back. It appears his new home is in a low income housing area. Apparently the friend's mom is a fan of Sabaton, which is a heavy metal band with dark and gruesome lyrics. 7) When dropping off Zay, Peter gives him a new phone and orders him a new bed. Because the friend's house has no extra bed currently. 8) Zay makes some statements like "this will be the last time you see me" and "you won't see me again for a long time" and "I won't be able to visit often". So it seems like he is practically gone forever 9) On his Instagram, Zay claims he left Peter's home because he thought Peter's mindset is too traditional and conservative, and Zay thought he cannot "be himself" in Peter's home. Sources: 1- mentioned in previous video 2- implied, see below 3,4- mentioned in prior video 5- because they are wearing the same clothes in this video as in the last video 6,7,8- in this video. Also Peter replied to a comment with the details about Zay's friend 9- Zay's Instagram My opinion is that this is a strange and sad situation, but not entirely surprising. Since Zay is already an adult, Peter cannot stop him from making an obviously bad decision. Zay only finished 11th grade, so he is not even a high school graduate. Since Zay is spending most of his days playing video games, probably Peter insisted that Zay should finish school and go for college or vocational school, and Zay doesn't really want to follow this "boring" path. So, Zay chose to move in with his gamer friend, where he can game all day long. After all, the gamer friend's mom already allowed the gamer friend to drop out of high school at age ~15 and do nothing productive with life. On his Instagram page, Zay mentioned he thought he didn't want to continue to live with Peter because Peter's household is too traditional/conservative. On one hand, Zay mentions on his Discord (the one in his IG bio) and Instagram that he is LGBT, so you could speculate that maybe he doesn't feel comfortable expressing that identity in Peter's household (this is just pure speculation, it could be totally false). But on the other hand I do believe Zay's primary motivation to move out is not really related to the LGBT thing, but more just because Peter imposes a lot of rules and structure in Zay's life to mold him into a responsible adult who will finish school and get a good job, which Zay is not interested in. I remember in prior videos, Peter always try to get Zay to follow some good habits, like less energy drinks and less sugar consumption, so probably Zay got tired of this nagging. In Zay's life, he has been in multiple foster families, so he is already habituated to temporary living arrangements, and if something is not working in the household then his solution is just to switch foster families. So he probably didn't bond all that much while living in Peter's house, so he doesn't see any problem with just leaving abruptly, because that's the life which he is used to. On his Instagram, he is already referring to his new cohabitants as his "new foster family", "sister", "brother", despite only knowing them for a couple weeks really (except his friend, for four years). We probably just find his departure jarring because we did not grow up in this kind of environment.

Lets just remember that without Peter's support God knows where Zay might be now. Peter provided the perfect bridge for him. People make their own choices in life and Zay knew 18 was his life line to do just that. My son experienced me and his father splitting up when he was 6 years old. My son lived with me. His father lived very far away, he barely saw him over the years. His Father was very difficult and never helped us or supported my son. Two weeks after leaving school my son basically told me he was going to live with his Dad and was leaving tomorrow!!! Also didn't tidy up room or pack things away. Later on I found out he'd planned it 6 months before but he didnt want to hurt my feelings by pre-warning me. I'm sure Zay also pre-planned it but felt the same. He knew he was in foster care for a reason but children have an innate desire to belong to their parents whatever has happened.

I think it’s a combination of he no longer wanted the structure you obviously provide. It’s not going to fare well for him if that’s the case. He just went from a loving structured environment ( in a beautiful house) to what looks like party central. I do think it was wrong that he gave you no warning, no heads up, not even a hey can we talk? Just decided he wanted to leave because it’s attractive to live elsewhere, and didn’t even want to come home to pack his belongings? You took him in, gave him a stable, structured, healthy environment. I’m sorry Peter. Give extra hugs to Anthony and the little kids

Zay I have been a social worker for 35 years, and this is a bad idea. I can't tell you how many kids like you age out of the foster care system, and aren't lucky enough to have a Peter in their corner. Peter offers stability, and I'm sure would make sure that you went to college, or a trade school. I'm not going to sugar coat it, I think that your mother, and her friend (your 2nd mom) are using you. I pray that I'm wrong, but I have experience in this area. Everyone on this page wants what is best for you, and this new living situation is not it. You can be closer to your biological mom without moving in close proximity to her. Also, the new brother? Where is his shirt? Mom's shirt? The shirt new "mom" is wearing, Sabaton, has been connected to white supremacy. I'm a heavy metal fan myself, and they are garbage, dark lyrics. Peter, you are smart man, please don't give these women money on Zay's behalf. Not saying that is what they are after, but I wouldn't be surprised if they had him ask you. Fist thing that woman says is, "You can help me co-parent, I'm a single mom, and I could use the help."

Not gonna lie. Seeing the young man he got dropped off with made me nervous for Peter. And teenagers don't quite understand. Living INDEPENDENT means providing for yourself without anyone else. So this isn't that. But he definitely is 18 and needs to figure out life on his own. Praying for him is the best any of the viewers and his beloved foster family can do for him. I was disgusted hearing the mother talk about co-parenting with her (I'm sure she only meant needing your money) and then said she found a cheap, used bunk-bed but that she'll go your route to have you buy a brand new one - with you as a single dad with all these kids having to buy a brand new bed for someone who is leaving on somewhat bad terms. Also how Zay was saying he was going to keep your backpack when he knew you wanted it back. I'm glad you spoke up with bravery and insisted you have your backpack back! You are very classy and humble and kind. You go over and beyond. I would not give money to them in fear of it being used for negative things. I am sad at his new life style choice but I do get it. We just have to pray and hope for the Lord to use all of this to draw Zay to Him one day, in His timing.

Help You Co-Parent, we Co-parenting Now? I have been following your journey Peter all interviews you have done and because you from East Africa Made me attached to this channel more. Peter from a place of love and to protect you do not allow to be used Financially. I loved Zay here his personality stood out, he was sweet esp to the little ones and for him to say he will not be seeing you guys probably not for a long time, not comforting the little one who was clearly heartbroken was Cold. His demeanor Has Changed, the energy is different, distant and from what I picked from this vlog he never came home when you picked him up as it seems to be filmed the same day, which explains why he was not able to pack his own bags. You had to go back Home and do that how Insensitive after all you have done. Moving to a new Home I remember you included plans for him there , gaming and all.All the 3 kids did not get time to process all this, the feeling of abandonment is something these beautiful souls including zay have dealt with, this should have been a smooth transition so everyone is part of it gradually, goodbye dinner , family packing moment. He could not have the courtesy to come Home one last time? It is not right how this went down. His mum was able to buy an expensive ring but she couldn't get him a bed? Of course she knows he is moving out. If he is old enough to Move out he should be old enough to pack his Bags, ensure he has a place to sleep including bed and survive . This environment does not look of good influence am sorry to say. I hate to judge but that young man with no shirt, the attitude . Zay better be careful out there, finish school , get to college stay away from people who do drugs with no direction. Zay has planned so many things behind your back or hitting you and the kids by surprise and no time to process . This is not what you do to family . He has gone ahead to call the others his new foster family what were you guys? Was he kicked out? I can only imagine how you feel Peter when some of us your viewers feel this way. We sending all our love, you have 3 children who need so much love and attention. Anthony became a bit withdrawn always sitting at the back we hope to see more of him and the cute stuff he used to do for you like on fathers day because one thing he really loves you and so do you. Am wishing your family the best and to take more kids in who need love and a home. Sometimes it's ok to love and offer support from a distant, don't allow to be used and protect the children left behind from and negative influence. While children must get their wings and navigate the world independently this move with no financial plan, is he going to school and work at the same time cause am sure he will not be hosted and eat for free. Anyway Zay has his mom too so we hope he will be ok no matter what.

Good Day, I am starting off by saying Zay have a hidden engender for leaving so quickly. Someone put an bug in his ear or he’s feeling a certain way, to make a discussion without explaining why ? going to a family his Dad knows nothing about don’t make sense, what happen ? I am quite sure the father has his suspicions. Why not move in with his biological mother who brought that expensive ring, the plot thickens. Going from one family to another family, is not having independence. The other family, why didn’t they reach out to Zay Dad or wanting to meet them earlier ? Motive, sketchy family, it makes little sense Zay. I think something else is going on, I wouldn’t order a bed absolutely not. I am only speculating ? ? ? ? The Bronx New York

😡🚩🤬⁉️🚫😡🚩🤬⁉️🚫😡🚩🤬⁉️🚫 I saw all the red flags esp when he asked Peter for money and extra furniture. Motivation: what I do know is that everything that happens in life is not forever, sometimes people come temporarily and you have to know when to move on and let them go. Peter's primary purpose was served and he did the best damn thing he could for this kid. what happens to him now is not Peter responsibility 🤔 I seen some chatter on Instagram under Zay's page about Peter being too strict and too conservative which is fine, I understand he has to be structured because these kids come and go. They come from homes where there was no love and structure which is why Peter has to be involved with their lives. I just wish Zay would have sat Peter down and talk to him about his lifestyle and gave Peter/Family a chance to love him and move out properly in a more suitable format. I just see a big difference in the kids that are younger that are placed in homes than older teenage kids.... the older ones are usually rebellious I seen it happen so many times but I wish them all the best and I hope Zay THANKS Peter and give him the respect

I realized I didn't address the fact that Zay moved in with friends. Zay was with his mother for a week. When you're young it's no big deal to sleep on the couch. However, if you are going to live with her, you will need a bedroom, a bed and other things. Personally, I think his mother has arranged for him to stay with friends of hers temporarily until his bedroom is ready. The reason for this ? She wants him out of Peter's sphere of influence and under her own so that he is easier to manipulate. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not optimistic.

@@FosterDadFlipper Peter, you are such an awesome person and so kind. Anthony is a very smart kid and his body language said it all. I saw Zay's instagram page last night, but I think he took it down. I just get bad vibes about the whole thing. The ages between 18-22 are so important for young people to transgress into young adulthood. I pray Zay makes good choices. He has a safety net with you as you left him with an open door policy. But if he does come back he needs boundaries and accountability. I didn't see much structure going on in his new home. But you have to get on with your life! You still have 3 kids that need you. Throughout all of this, I love your positivity. ❤❤

I think after Zay met with his bio mother for 2-weeks he returned disorientated. That is completely understandable, having had no contact for so long. She tried to make amends, which every child wants Now this move, to a friend and his mother, where Peter will provide a bed and it is in the vacinity of his bio mum. I do understand that Zay now wants his freedom, but as a mother of a 17 yo daughter, I see several red flags vs a good move. What is certain, Zay knows whatever happens, he can rely on Peter!!! I wish Zay the very best! I hope that Peter's anxiety can be reduced in time - due to circumstances. Gosh, I wish everyone the best!!!

This video is filmed on the same day they went to pick him up (they are all wearing the same clothes as the last video). So Peter packed Zay's stuff and drove Zay from the mom's place to his new family's place. Zay never actually returned home after traveling to see his mom

Peter, I am so sorry for you - not because he is leaving because that is often inevitable. I am so sorry because of the way he did it. He blindsided you and the kids. In this video, he is different, almost angry looking. No eye contact, like he is uncomfortable. I sure hope he can say thank you for how you took him into your heart. Zay: Peter deserved more than how you left. The way you did it hurt him. I hope you dont go off the deep end with your freedom. I am sad not because you have gone. I am sad that you did not have the kindness to consider their feelings by announcing you were leaving the next day. That was mean. And that is not how you showed yourself for 2 years. I wonder if this is your bio mother's influence. So sorry Peter.

I felt the same way; I saw it coming the minute he said he was going to visit his mom. Sometimes biological parents have a hard time seeing their kids thriving with someone else. I wish him the best but to be honest I don’t see this as a good move. Like Peter said he is 18 & he has to respect that. Keeping him in prayer.

Zay doesn't seem to have a mean bone in his body; it was probably very hard for him to tell Peter he was leaving, so perhaps he put it off until he couldn't put it off anymore? And no wonder he seemed different, he was going through a highly emotional departure, in front of a camera, and maybe trying to keep his emotions in check. 18 is a time when nature prods young people to try their wings and Zay has a phone and knows he can call Peter if he needs a helping hand. Good luck Zay, enjoy your new adventure and stay happy and well 😊🙏

@Joanne Clark There really aren’t any disclaimers you can put out that lessen the blow of the negativity of your judgement. Yes it looks like the family he is moving in with is less financially secure then Peter - and yes that can be a harder boat to row - but why put energy into forecasting failure? He is loved and has a safety net of a solid father who is just a phone call away. He feels the need to spread his wings and learn about himself - just as we all do at some point. Hindsight is a tool only won through choices and he is a brave young man choosing to set out on his journey. Capitalism is a curse - but money has nothing to do with the heart.

He's still young, so he spoke in absolute and doesn't realize that just because you are 18 years old doesn't mean that mentally you are an adult. I join the Navy at 17 and as soon as i turn 18, I got married. I was so immature even after having my first son. In the last 2 months my eldest moved to NYC for a job. Did I think that was the best decision no, but I knew I had to let him figure it out. He at least has a good job and always wanted that lifestyle and he graduated from college and does have friends there because he did an internship with NBC a couple of years ago. My youngest just turn 18 and is going to college 3hrs away and I wasn't happy with that decision but I knew I had to let him go too and let him see the world. As far as Zay, I will admit that I saw this coming when he went to visit his mom. "The friend" painted an awesome picture for him. Probably telling him that his mom is cool and will let them do whatever they want. I didn't get good vibes from the lady or the friend. I don't think it will be a good scenario for him. But Peter had to let him go so he can see for himself. I just wish that Zay realizes that if it doesn't workout that he can come back home and know that Peter is there for him. I wish him the best! Also, was I the only one that felt the lady was throwing ut out there that " it's only her, no husband etc" for Peter? Lol😏🤔

Maybe his friend just didn't want to be on a youtube video that is watched by thousands of people. Peter imho should've respected that, btw, and cut him out. Plenty of people are camera-shy or just don't want to lose privacy. (Unless there was something about him in previous/recent videos which I haven't watched yet). Hopefully there is nothing wrong about him. (Ok I just learned he apparently dropped out of school a few years ago? That's definitely a red flag... I knew a family with a troublemaker who dropped out of school, his parents did everything thy could to find him school to take him back and force through the classes, in the end even paid for a private school (a bit too expensive but better to cut down on expenses than let the child waste away their future) - not possible for less privileged people, I know). Boy is no scientist but lives on his own successfully.
