2.0 Update to my "looking for inspiration video" and where I am with it today... Harley Davidson UK are quite possibly the worst company out there.

I had a bike in the shop for several months at one time. When the dealer finally did call to say it was ready I acted as if I had forgotten about the bike and needed to reminded, "Huh? What bike?" sort of thing. Then, after that phone call, I let the bike sit in the dealership another month before finally coming around to collect it. I called to let them know I was coming and to have it cleaned up and ready. When the bike was wheeled back out i did this whole, "Oh. That bike. Geez, I'd forgotten all about that one." This silence was deafening after that.

I feel for you mate,not good enough! I just finished riding my 22 sportglide i bought new,around Australia🇦🇺 25,000kms in 5 months across 7 states,never missed a beat!

Mate, listening to your issues with this bike is hard to comprehend. I have owned a few Harleys over many years, some new, some used. I have only ever had the best experiences with these bikes & dealerships. I don’t know if things are different here in the land down under, I am shocked to see the difference between my experiences & what you are dealing with. Hopefully all will be well for you soon. Chin up mate, fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for such a positive comment… Harley dealers here in the U.K. must be frustrated as with the support they get from corporate. Dealers are closing here and I don’t blame them to be honest looking at the experience I’m having. Buying a Harley in the U.K. will not be possible soon enough with our 2030 onward and no more internal combustion engines bullshit, I just worry the franchises will pull out before then being supplied either shite bikes and not having the support to deal with them. My last bike (a 2019 MY sportster) was flawless. Ran perfectly and was a role model for what an American dream machine was capable of, shame I was too big for it being honest. This sport glide is phenomenal. When it’s started from cold and on the throttle. Before taking in to the dealers I was averaging 120 miles to a tank (nearly half of what it should get) that alone says something is really wrong. Ex- Harley-Davidson forty-eight owner. Sent back to the dealership 9 times first three months. Was a disaster until the updated remap from Vance and Hindes. No issues afterwards. Except I wanted reliability, luggage space and BHP. Sold it and went bought a Kawasaki H2. Bottom line. Get your money back and buy Japanese. No regrets!

That’s horrendous, 9 times in three months. Wow. My bike is running well now (check the playlist for the latest update video) I think I’m happy with mine power wise and ability to carry things now with the sissy bar and luggage rack (and with the two small panniers it comes with) but the real test will be when I take it down to Spain 🇪🇸 for the ride of its life this year! Glad you got what you wanted either way the Japanese bike. I had one before (2021 CB650R) and I found it, as perfect as it was made and complete quality that never let me down I just found it boring. Riding it was soulless so to speak. I got on my pals sportster one day and it felt agricultural, and I loved it! Had a sportster for a year then traded in for this Sport Glide (and that’s when the problems started) Thanks for watching and the feedback 👍🏻

@aaronblack001 mine was ex- demo and Battle of the Kings entry 2019 🤴 Stage 3 Vince and Hindes parts and tuner. Lost my shirt walking away. Trade in time for cashing out. Dealership never stood over the bike and Harley-Davidson didn't want to buy it back. Bought Japanese. Took a £3000 hit! Had 4 Japanese bikes and love them for both reliability and performance.

So sorry to hear about your ongoing issues mate. I have a 2021 sport glide 5000 miles on the clock and it's running just fine. I think all European Sports glides are made outside the USA

You’re right. All sport glides MY 22 23 > are Thai built. I think the problem is the emissions Harley are squeezing them through to comply for EU standards… EU is worse than CA CARB I reckon and as such the bikes are delivered broken. I’m yet to find anyone comment on a 23>MY tell me theirs is alright from the factory Thanks for watching and the positive comment 🙏🏻💪🏻👍🏻

I own a 2019 Sport Glide and it says on the down tube sticker “union made in the USA” what does that mean?

⁠@@Baloski46I think it means the frame was union made. Mine says the same but also has Thailand on the same area. My last bike (883) had made in USA on it I’m sure. Vin number was a Kansas City plant.

here in Houston the local speed shops are finding the factory machining is horrible. they are decking the heads to seal the leaks. the heads may be drawing air into the valves through, between, around the head gaskets. maybe that helps. someone commented the machining in the M8 is akin to the problem with the cam tensioners in the twin cam 88

Harley Davidson last good bikes were the EVOLUTION Big Twin and Sportster. All their bikes now are expensive unreliable crap.😢

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles with your bike. I'm in Canada and I've owned (still own one) three Harleys with the 107 engine. I had a 2019 Road King, 2021 Heritage Classic, and currently own a 2023 Street Glide. I count myself fortunate that I have had zero issues with any of them. They all have run like champs. I hope your bike issues gets sorted in short order because there's nothing worse than not being able to throw a leg over and get in the wind.

All I can think of is that the US may tune their bikes for the lower octane grade, where our E10 is 95 octane and their premium ranges from 89 - 94. I have a 2021 (Thai built) sport glide from new and during prior research and having heard about their customer service & warranty not being up to much I wasn't worried so much about the warranty so I had stage 1 done within a couple of months, full pipe, air cleaner and tune, the following year a stage 2, so far clocked up 11,500 miles which include two European trips, bike runs great with no issues at all. wish you all the best with ongoing saga 🤞

That’s something I’ve always been positive about.. as shite as our E10 is the US fuel (pump gas as they call it) is terrible quality, we should always be good here in comparison. Glad to hear you’re having success with the stage 1 and stage 2 both. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again I love the bike and it’s so comfortable in comparison to my last few bikes I can’t wait to get this down to Spain later on this year too (already booked the return ferry to Santander now) My advice to anyone in the future, the Harley Warranty is pretty much useless. Like you just do want you want to make your bike better and not worry 👊🏻 Hopefully these videos will help others come to the same conclusion in the future too. @@aaron.black107 You'll enjoy it, its a great comfortable bike for touring (still got the stock seat), make sure you get a rain sock for your new air intake, great for rainy days (hopefully none) & dusty/sandy days. I'm looking at France, Italy & Switzerland this year cant wait

I’ve driven through Europe in the car a few times over the last few years with the wife and can’t wait to do it on the bike… stock seat on mine too is more than enough for me so far in comparison to the sportster and the CBR I had before. Let you know how I feel after hitting the Pyrenees 😜🫣😎

Sad to hear all this negativity regarding Harley. Clicking on one of your videos made a lot of similar videos come up in ny youtube feed. Harley used to be an iconic brand, but I don't know what happened. Company lost its soul. I could definitely see myself owning a Harley, an old Shovelhead or similar. Today I own a Triumph Speed Twin, absolutely love it. Best of luck with your servicing hell, I hope it's sorted out soon.

I'll bet something like a vance and hines fp3 would sort this issue out, problem is you'd void the warranty. Supposedly screamin eagle tuners aren't up to much as they're compliant with US epa, unless I'm mistaken.

You’re not wrong I bet regarding the FP3 or fp4 I think for these M8 softails. My bike won’t have a screamin’ eagle tuner on it either though as it will be a dyno map installed on the software by the dealer as opposed to an aftermarket unit like the FP3 etc. My dealer done a dyno software map for me on my last bike… it was an 883. I had a pal with a 1200 sportster running an FP3 and my bike kept up with it (and got the jump on him a few times much to his disgust) There is something about the dyno tune (or even the don performance tune) that’s loaded to the bike by the dealer. If you’ve not tried one I recommend it over and fp3. 100%

When l bought Hondas l didn't care if it had a warranty because it was a Honda. Bought 3 new bikes never a problem. I have had my Sportster for 25 years and 400,000 miles on the original engine. l love my Sportster 883.

Harley should be bending over backward to help you. It’s unbelievable how they think treating customers like this can be in any way acceptable, or good for the long term for their customers or their business.

100% mine (MY 2023) says Thailand on the frame… I’m gutted as the Sportster I had before (MY 2019) was a Kansas city bike. I think for sure it’s about compliance why it’s so bad??

@@My_bike_and_me it’s quite clear to see. Stamped made in Thailand. Once I have mine back I’ll let you know 👌🏻 Also your vin should tell you. 1HD is USA and 5HD is outside of USA I think? Google it and you can find out what all the letters and no’s mean looking at your vin. Can find actual plant too.

I have just checked my vin, the first 2 digits (5HD) tells me it was made for outside of the US. The eleventh digit identifies the country it was built (S) is Thailand and thats where mine was made as well. All news to me, I genuinely thought it was made in the US 🤷🏻‍♂

Hey man ,that sucks. Been there myself on a brand new Sporty 1200 custom. Anyhow I would not buy a new hd anymore since certain models are now being assembled/built in Thailand for the European market as far as I know . I want to see (Union made in the USA) on the frame sticker. Good luck

A bike that costs this much should never be shipped with these issues. If you do have an issue the manufacturer bending over backwards to make it right. This is a disgrace. Harley-Davidson is too comfortable with the idea that people will buy their motorcycles no matter what. This is the very attitude that is pushing me away from them.

It’s been a shocking experience dealing with customer service (there isn’t any) and the dealers are given bad bikes to sell from the off (and Harley know that after sacrificing everything to get emissions down) Thanks for watching and for the comment 👍🏻

@@aaron.black107 I just brought a Harley about 5months ago had no problems with her same engine 8 job I had a triumph speedmaster stared to go with rust and had engine issues as well so it’s every where they don’t care got your money no back up truimph have the same issues no spares hope you get it fixed soon regards Charlie.👍🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
