Who do you cry out to when things are going badly? As he was about to die on the cross, Jesus shouted out, “Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!” He was so confident in his Father that he raised his voice, despite the agonizing pain he was suffering on the cross. In that moment, Jesus became the example of not only how to live, but how to die. God can be fully trusted-his hands are big enough to bless you, and he will always hold on to you! In the final message of The Seven Greatest Words of Love series, Pastor Rick Warren shares four truths to remember about God in your darkest hour.

I heard of stories of people who tried to commit suicide or died but Jesus brought them back to life or didn’t allow them to die but if you are dead then you are dead. Most people don’t come back to life and have the chance to repent. If you’re dead you cannot repent and it’s too late. So don’t think you can sin now or commit suicide and think that you can repent later. God knows your heart and it has to be real repentance not just empty words.

I agree with almost everything Pastor said in this message except for the end where he once you've been saved you'll always be saved even if you try to jump out. How big do you think Gods hands are? God mentions to Israel how they have forgotten of there first love. God was there love then they forgot about them. The church of Laodicea God says "I will Spit you out of my mouth" in other words they were in the Body of Christ then SPIT OUT OF HIS BODY. Even pastor ricks good friend Francis chan if I remember right said that in that passage God is not talking about spitting them into His love but God actually mean Hell. In John 15:6 he says "if you do not REMAIN in Me ( one were in and continue to be remain in) you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and Burned." We don't all become branches the moment we are born that is false we accept Christ in our lives then must remain then we become a branch of the vine.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. You can never lose your salvation - for it is not by your doing or keeping of the law but by faith and grace of Jesus Christ. He died for ALL our sins...not some but all! Amen

Please don't misunderstand me as trying to preach judgement I believe God is full of grace and when we sin God pours out more grace upon us. God will forgive if you confess and repent I just don't believe that once you've prayed a prayer and were on a spiritual high for a short period of time until you just returned back to your sin mean your going to heaven.

I need further explanation regarding the only sin that can lose one's salvation. Pastor Rick said that the only sin that is unforgivable is the sin of "blaspheming the Holy Spirit." But in 2 Peter 2:20-22, like Chinedu Okoli mentioned below, it does say that "For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end with them is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and The sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. Pastor Rick/Saddleback: can you please provide more explanation to this? Thank you!

There were genuine believers in the Bible who wanted to die, men like Elijah and Job, but the Scriptures that describe these men's despair and suicidal desires make it clear that they were wrong. Later events make it clear that "bailing out of life" would have been a very bad choice. God sometimes brings us to a point of total despair and frustration so that we will give up trying to live this life in our own strength and cast ourselves wholly upon Christ. A born again Christian who takes his own life just simply rejects the works of the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit was sent to help us beyond measures and rejecting his presence would be unforgivable sin for a Christian.

Amazing sermon and rick warren is my favorite pastor but I would have to disagree on what he said in regards to those that are a believer but stop believing will make it to heaven and these verses prove that “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6‬:‭4‬-‭6‬ “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭8‬

Up until now I really liked watching Rick Warren on youtube. However, the lesson today has unsettled me. It doesn't make sense that a backsliding Christian has a free ticket into heaven minus some rewards, huh! And to add insult to injury he goes on to say that Christians who commit suicide have a save ticket too! What was the purpose of the crucifixion?

Even if you a Christian or not and you commit suicide there's no salvation because you have taken your own life God is the one who gives life and take it away I agree with you I was a follower of Rick Warren but now I'm having second thoughts he said a lot of things that are not true God bless everybody judah was a follower of Jesus and he committed suicide and would have repentant he would have been saved again God bless everybody

If you think the sin of suicide is a sin that Christ's death didn't cover, I truly question your status with the Lord. You do not understand the basics of the cross. If you are his sheep, you literally cannot fall away, as you do not belong to yourself and nothing you do can change that. Anything else is Pelagianism.

I'm trying so hard to accept the church and to feel good about the church. I love Jesus, but because of my experiences with the church I can't say the same about the church. I rest at night and wake up thinking I can somehow be in a different state of mind about the church, then I turn on KZfaq, and all of these so called prophets get on my phone and totally destroy the good feelings I had when I woke up. I am not benefiting from negative words these so called prophets speaks, anyway I hear deception all between their words anyway. I love Jesus, don't get me wrong, but my experience with church is another thing. When I confess this to you you condemn me ,call me evil, and so many other things that just pushes me farther and more farther away from you. I don't need you put downs on me. Judge yourself. Their Hearts and their words are making me want to just walk away from the church completely. I will never turn away from God, but I will turn away from people's cruel, and abusive ways they attack my heart and my mind 💔.

@@paulfromcanada5267 1 Corinthians 1:27 "God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." As Pastor himself says he is human, he might have interpreted the verses wrongly. It's not about the things you see as well, just like how faith is believing that God can do the impossible that I'm sure most of us have experienced before.

There Rick goes with crazy Protestant theology: if you accept Jesus as your savior you can keep on murdering and still be saved. Nonsense. Rick, the Bible says in Revelation, and elsewhere, that you will be judged for everything you did in life. And those who kept seriously sinning are the chaff that gets burned.

Agreed! . Yes, we fall back down and get up but to become a drug lord or be murder after being born again does not make sense. We CAN lose salvation if we go down the wrong path. Believing in Jesus is not enough even demons believe , doesn't mean they are saved.

I love this sermon but I have to disagree on one thing. You CAN lose salvation if you start walking down the wrong path. If a born again person becomes a druglord or murders someone , they are NOT going to heaven. A born again person would not become a drug lord or murder someone to begin with. That doesn't make sense to do such deeds and still go to heaven. You may repent and start a new life again but in no way can you keep sinning and doing such deeds and go to Heaven.
