Thank you, JP! ❤️ this track and album. The vocals, groove, and atmosphere are outstanding. This music fires on all cylinders for me. My next favorite track from this album is Clean Heart. So good and the trumpet parts are divine.

In an age of oversinging, Sade's restraint is endlessly refreshing. Her timbre is gorgeous, her phrasing great, and her taste is immaculate. I'm guessing you already know the (sort of) title song, Love Is Stronger Than Pride, which is possibly my favourite song of hers. Beautiful and laid back, as always, but with a lyric that goes deeper than usual.

So. Damn. Smoothe. It's very 80's. I think it's the (fretless?) bass that places it so firmly in that decade.

Evening, Justin. Dave from Across The Ocean. Sade is just so smooth and relaxing. I probably appreciate her more now than I did back in the 80s. Maybe a male version of her could be Tunde (also of Nigerian descent) who sings with The Lighthouse Family. They had hits in the 90s such as High, Lifted and Ocean Drive.
