I think this is common across the South. Communities started out as neighbourhoods and then all eventually grew together as a city. It's not gentrification; it didn't happen in a short amount of years. It took a long time but was organic.

He's a dedicated performer. Saw him in Detroit, in the midst of a bad snowstorm. He landed in Toronto and found out tu hat the flights to Detroit were canceled. So he rented a car and drove. I've driven that route in a snowstorm and it is white knuckle time. He apologized for being 1/2 hr late, and for the fact that his stage wasn't done to his liking. But you go to see him, not how his stage looks. Very, very funny man. Love him.

It's definitely a testament to him that even though I've never been to Jacksonville, all these esoteric jokes are still hilarious. Not sure how many other comedians could do that. Especially about a place that doesn't have a really defined reputation in most people's minds, the way somewhere like Chicago or L.A. etc. does.

Duvall ya'all. I never forgot that phrase. I left Jacksonville back in the 80's as a 10 yr old kid and recently went back to visit and it has grown, changed and not what I remember. I love Katt Williams,.... man....one Comedian that always brings all cultures and colors together.
