works best on harder plastic or metals. My 1/32 Airfix ssoldiers are a softer plastic and it is not very effective and just fluffs the plastic up.

This is a good tool. I was given one from a manager at my local Games Work shop. Nice bit of kit but expensive

+clayschevys I use it a lot but I have to be honest, I use my hobby knife more. It is a good tool but you can do the same, if not better, with your hobby blade. And yeah brother....it does work on regular Styrene but feels bulky. You get used to it after a bit. Like I said, it's a good tool.Made well but expensive for what it is.

At almost 20 dollars this is a rip-off. It's made in china as well. Back of hobby knife = free. Plus it would just be another thing clogging the workspace. You could also just get a small set of files. - Nice video though.

I agree it seems superfluous, the same job can be done with a hobby knife, file, sanding stick or sand paper all of which you can buy multiple times for the cost of this tool

john crate I agree fully, when my grandson gets old enough to start building models, I will give him this tool to clean the seams rather than the sharp Xacto knife. I did pick this up for $15.95 US plus shipping on Ebay.

The back of the knife never gets dull from scraping so there is no added cost there. You would still need to sand or file in both cases. A kid's gotta learn how to use a hobby knife eventually and could easy poke their eye out with this tool anyways. :-) So this tool really has no purpose. Other than to make money for the company. :-)

ScaleModelKitReview I suppose its just a different teaching style I was always taught using the xacto blade, might be safer for the younger modeler though, btw thanks for the videos I've learnt some very good wee tricks off them :)

john crate Thanks John, I agree about using the Xacto blade too. Cheers

How does this compare with the back of a hobby-knife blade?
@ScaleModelKitReview

Its not as aggressive as the blade and probably safer for the younger modeler.
