@@wellfuck13579 I guess I would be kinda cool if it helped them get more big names on the pod later on down the road, but I honestly think I kinda prefer it with other similar youtubers as guests, plus Mike Rowe seems like kind of a douche the more you look in to him. Btw I know this would almost certainly never happen, I’m just speaking hypothetically.

My life motto has been safety 3rd for decades. Sort of a silly statement but also that we have to do things. If safety is most important we wouldn't leave the safety of home.

I agree with Mike Rowe. There are too may occasions that "Safety First" mentality gets in the way of just doing the job with common sense. Work hard, Hustle harder, and Kill everything.

@@danilokavanagh9406 No, you know, if he gets injured or killed, he will do everything to sue the most out of the company. Like that republican governor who shilled to slash regulations on attraction parks and limit possible compensations on people in his state, but once his son got decapitated, went to a fucking texas to sue the park owner for millions.

I remember someone telling me about a workplace in Texas, which has a sign that said "you have the right, and the responsibility, to a safe work environment". I hate safety theater; the banners, hoopla, stupid virtue signaling...
@petejohnson31494 жыл бұрын
Yup. Such a sign implies that your safety is primarily the responsibility of your employer, or some other agency when all they can really do is mitigate risk. The responsibility for safety ultimately depends on the individual.

The guy that was the safety consultant for our company a few years ago started every safety meeting with this line. How important is your safety to you?
@masscomnetАй бұрын
This is a "dirty truth" to Mike Rowe because he is ignorant and sarcastic. The reality is that safety is the responsibility of line supervision / management. All the time . . . every day. This is why supervisors and managers who allow employees to be seriously hurt or killed can be put in prison. So the boat Captain can say one thing, but at the end of the day, he could lose his business, get fined, and go to jail. There's no room to debate this. It's the simple truth. I am a CSP / CIH with a long work history in construction, industry, and yes . . . even maritime.

Me thinks, if there's no producers around and your life is just your life... It would naturally be safety first but for MGMT. What makes work? What makes dirty? What makes a soul and the fractal of free will we're currently and continuously imploding and exploding into?

The reason "safety first" is a thing is so practices are put in place not to save just the individual but also any bystanders (or product) the "safety third" worker may unintentionally damage, or worse. If your employer practices "safety third", get the hell out.
