#TheOffice is one of the greatest shows of the 2000s! I’m reviewing every episode with some background, trivia, the deeper meaning, and more. Today, we're looking at the Safety Training episode.
The #Safety #Training episode bonkers. Between "Dwight you ignorant slut!", Depression, watermelons, trampolines, training and so much more! The deeper meaning here is all about belonging.
Actroid Robot Dwight Mentioned: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actroid
Thanks to our NBC overlords for their creation and ownership of the Office. The clips used here are for reviewing and education.

If I had the bullhorn I would tell Michael he's a great ice-skater and a phenomenal salesman, and that his voice as a film maker is completely unique.

"Damnit Michael, pay attention!" Lonny, played by the late Patrice O'Neal. RIP sea monster. Lonny was my favorite warehouse worker. He always called Michael out on his crap.

That’s surprising that it was unpopular, I found it to be one of the most memorable episodes. Really, it’s the entirety of the outside sequences that I loved, they’re just so dang funny. That moment when Jim sees the bouncy castle and, knowing Michael so well, immediately puts together the plan and realizes the *real* danger he’s in always has me in stitches 😂

If I was in the position where I had to talk Michael down...I would have mentioned the things that I do like about him. How much he cares about people, how he views his employees as a family, how much he tries to enjoy life and have fun, how much he wants to make people laugh, that kind of thing. I get how he has negative qualities and often his good ones can lead to bad results...but I admire those things about him. Legitimately never seen someone with kinder eyes in my life (though that is more credit to Steve Carell). Though I do have to say I loved Pam's bribery attempt.

One of the lowest rated? I don't get how people thought that. I understand your 4/5 rating, but this episode is definitely of my favorites... lol. Sometimes I'm shocked that we love the same show but disagree on most episodes, I've only agreed on a few of the field guides that I have seen from you. Great video though! I love hearing others thoughts on these episodes to give myself more perspective!

in season 3 mike has 4 legit mental breakdowns...when ed truck dies and he sees no one cares then when the branch closes he shuts down first having to give the news to everyone at the office and then again cause he has let everyone down when he tries to go talk to david then just 2 eps later he again goes insane cause everyone is saying that prison is better than the office then you got the depression stuff in this episode season 3 was a season mike got manipulated by his emotions and he still with jan which itself is torture

This is in my top 5 episodes of the whole show. I'm a big fan of the humor in this one: the warehouse training, the reason they're having the training to begin with, Ryan's sarcastic remarks. Maybe it's just my kind of humor

Hmmm. I understand where you are coming from but the slow pace scenes are what made the show so great, so real. Office life is mundane and since this is supposed to be a documentary it really works and is brilliant.

I'd obviously would stroke Michaels ego with flattery to get him of the edge. BTW, this particular episode ( Ithink a couple of others as well) has one of the absolute legends of stand -up comedy making a cameo. I dont think I've heard you mention him. But RIP Mr Patrice O'Neal

this episode is wacky cause business school cocktails and the negotiation were so heavy I think and the show wanted some goofy stuff before the final 3 eps...the next episode product recall is very goofy in tone as well as the ep after that about women's appreciation..the show went very goofy with some big topics

Okay, so a thing that bothers me is that you characterize train tracks as a big city thing. This isn’t true. A lot of small town around the states popped up by rest stops along the tracks. Not a big thing but still bothers me

I think what bothers me about Jim refusing to call Andy "Drew" is because he has made an effort trying to become a better person, and he has never actually harmed Jim (he's obtuse but otherwise harmless, unless you're drywall) so it felt needlessly combative especially if someone has been attending anger management to try and push their buttons immediately after they return. Asshole behaviour! Jim may be the intended audience POV, but I sympathise with Andy here.

Hey, Mulverine. What is up, my man? I couldn’t agree more. That’s my least favorite episode of season 3. Two in a row that I dislike and never realized. You know what? It’s even the same reason for the one before: I don’t enjoy having my Office characters being bullied. Again, I found Darryl extremely insensitive. not to mention Lonny, who’s just disrespectful and would get fired at the spot if this wasn’t a show. But again, so would Michael. And I do realize this is all his fault to begin with. But I love this character. So do the people on The Office, because they know his just a “child”. Remember in gay witch hunt when Oscar closes the door and says “I’m sorry, come on. That was a good idea”? That’s it. That’s the dynamic. It goes full circle. In the end, they care about one another and understand that these are not bad people, even though Michael has just abused him and force him out, with absolutely no right to do so and with legit argument for a law suit. That how I feel. I would give this one a 2/5. The only thing i love from this episode are the betting parts. Um abraço!

I think people take issue with Jim refusing to call Andy “Drew” is because nowadays in our modern climate it reads very much as behavior akin to transphobia
@xuexxiong
@xuexxiong Жыл бұрын
Jim was trash for that. He messed with Andy to the point where Andy went crazy and didn't even apologize for it. Then when Andy comes back and ask for people to call him Drew and be a new person, Jim just disregards him.

@@xuexxiong yeah it was a shitty thing to do that I think the writers just thought of as comedy and nothing more without realizing the implications. Not one of the show’s finer moments to say the least
