My vlogging set up for my soon to be delivered Triumph 1200 GT Explorer is a GoPro 9 chin mounted on my helmet, an Insta 360 One R on my handlebar, and an Innovv K5 front and rear facing camera system permanently mounted to the bike. For shots off the bike I am currently using a Canon M50. All of my memory cards, cables, chargers, batteries, and other assorted kit are in a bag I picked up from Enduristan. Huge thank you to you for pointing me towards Lone Rider. I had been searching for a tent for my ride around the edge of the U. S. A. and after seeing your video on it I ordered the Travel the World - Bundle 1. Comes with the tent and all the bags I could need. I am considering ordering it for my bikes and travels in the UK and Europe. Thanks SO much for your content. Keep it up!!!

Excellent tips in this video, thank you for sharing them. I shot a ton of footage while travelling in 2018 and then came home to learn to edit and create episodes. Definitely, the harder way to do it as I didn't think of the beginning, middle and end of each video, nor did I think about B-roll or sequences. However, with a lot of editing, I think I've managed to make videos that are just about watchable. I get a good group of people that watch every video I put out. So like you say it's 100% worth putting content out there and don't worry too much about how fast or slow your channel grows just make the content you like. My channel is slowly growing and the videos I shoot and edit now with the knowledge I know now get 10X the views of my poorly shot trip videos.

Forgot to add....I have a Cardo comm sister on my Shoei helmet. I have two Movo lavalier microphones installed in the helmet. One next to the Cardo microphone and one next to the speaker on the left. That way when I am riding with others here in the States or when at my place in London I can record what I am saying whilst riding and what others riding with me are faffing on about. To record the sound I have both microphones plugged in to a pocket Tascam recorder. I also have a third Movo microphone for recording when using the Canon. Watching Username Kate and along with your content has me ready to travel the world on two wheels and put it on my KZfaq channel. Cheers

Hi Saffy. Been following for a while and as you say you have definitely improved with time. I started just as a way to document a van conversion but I’ve also done a couple of how to’s on my fjr1300 and what has surprised me is how many views I’ve had even though the quality is pretty dreadful. My main difficulty is remembering to press record. So I agree with your final comments and encourage anyone who wants to have a go to just upload and not worry. Cheers and keep riding

I'm using it to promote Sister Company's music channel, which was up already when KZfaq started in '06 - '07. I've taken a lot of videos down but there are still 360 on the main SC channel. For me, the backdrop has changed enormously over the years on this platform. I've seen all the changes. Initially there were stars, then likes and dislikes and now publicly, just likes. Iwant to have a musical note next to our channel name. The band and distribution matches the conditions for the upcoming change for musical artists but one other condition is that your channel content must be ascribed to just one artist and also primarily pushing musical content. For me this means pairing Sister Company motovlogs with the music, and generally selecting 'Music' as the category. There is no guaranteed successful route to any KZfaq destination. With 1.5 M reach and half as many views on FB for the 2020 album, it's hard to see KZfaq as an earner but I guess it works for many. Still trying anyhow. Not dead yet. Must remain positive.

I love that you filmed all your mistakes because thats real life, whether you have your L plates on or Just past your full bike test. Mistakes are going to happen. I nearly dropped my bike the other day not entire my fault though a Pink Fiat 500 basicaly cut the corner as i was coming up to a Junction and i wasnt prepared for it so i had to lean my bike to move over with only a few feet before i hit the markers on the junction so it was very slow speed but i nearly dumped my bike as a result. As usual the young female driver didnt stop didnt say sorry or ask if i was ok. But you just have to take 5 brush it off and carry on. Knowing this is the life of a Biker.

great vlog Saffron, still trying to get my head around my vlogging, sometimes I totally forget I have my camera on, osmo action camera, and just ride, when it comes to editing, I have virtually no footage lol as it is just a ride with nothing being said, or I lose track on what I am saying and stray off..... currently finishing up 4 hours footage of my 2.5k mile trip around the UK, have cut it down to an hour, but forgot to video the yorkshire dales and the highlands, D'OH.... and just waiting for it to finish on wondershare. Hopefully it will be up in the next couple of hours.

I agree to all you have said as a frequent watcher of motorbike or cars vlogs. I observe some or most of them started with the not so sophisticated camera or other techs they have today. Unless they are from the company that promotes the channel. Anyway, I came to see a lot of motovloggers over the time. But You, Norally Shoenmaker of Itchy Boots at Matt Watson of Carwow are the 3 guys I have liked. 3 of you have something that really interest viewers to watch, always put a little sense of humor to your content, cheeky but its fine & mostly very informative. Stay cool Saffy, don't be so pressure with the channel. Stay giggly & don't be shy, its cute. 😉

If you do a great content, people will love it. I hope you get a VIP pass. Also, I observe your bike isn't suited a lot for Adventure. There are lots out there that would suit you, those aren't that heavy. You should switch to more suited one with the prescribed Navi tires for the mud & sand, just in case.

Good video, loads of useful information. For me, and my meager channel, I use a GoPro Hero 4, that was gifted to me, a lappel mike, and mobile phone. Editing is taken care of, by a Lenovo laptop and Windows Media Live. All simple, basic and cheap equipment. I'm happy doing things this way, it's within my abilities (lacking), it's within my budget (severly lacking), and its just for fun to me. It's great to see channels like yours, grow and improve all the time, me, I'm kinda staying where I am (my choice). Best of luck with your future endevors, be safe, ride safe and have fun. Grumps.

Whether I’d ever be able to earn enough (reliably) to replace middle-management NHS money is doubtful. I’ve had one video do really well with over 13k views and the other have done not a lot. Been playing around with drone stuff as well. I enjoy it a lot, though. Really struggling with good audio whilst riding, all I get is wind noise as soon as I get above walking speed. Lots of inspirers out there, such as yourself. Great advice though. All noted. 👍

@saffy I genuinely love your content. I am a biker but I also work in IT. Your comments around AMD being ahead in this field are just wrong, IMO. Intel processors in my opinion are still way ahead in this field. Other than that, love the video as always.
@nickclarkuk
@nickclarkuk 2 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure on that . If Intel are ahead then why did Apple get so frustrated with their lack of ability to shrink their CPU die, resulting in excessive heat and the decision to build their own Arm based M1 chips ? Intels decision to continue fabricating their own chips in-house rather than outsourcing it to TSMC seems like a bad business decision. AMD are doing a better job right now and offer the maximum ‘bang for buck’. For laptops the M1 apple silicon is better on efficiency / heat / battery life but at a price . AMD is the better choice on the Windows platform .

Thanks again for another fantastic video but one point you missed out on was how long does it take to write your script. I am surprised that you find it hard to speak with others around you, you should look to see if there any public speaking class or groups in your area you can join. Most of the successful people I know do some sort of public speaking to help boost their confidence. That said the reason why I watch your channel is simple that well your you , we love the natural way you are it's something we all can relate to . Stuff brakes,gets lost or we get it wrong and you keep all of that in never pretending to be perfect. Keep up the good work. Ps please stop calling your lid a helmet . Call it a lid or at least a crash helmet as you sound like you have started a new fetish when you say things like stuffing a dead cat in your helmet. Thanks JC

It varies from topic to topic. Travel videos don't have scripts because I'm just simply talking about what happened. Very in-depth topical videos can take weeks. I've been working on one script yearly a year! Some scripts I can write in a day, it really varies on the amount of research needed

hey Saff, go to see another video. You are inspiring. I am a motovlogger and use Hero3 and Hero4 cameras, plus iPhone. Don't have a lot of money but they do the job. Still getting used to editing though. Content wise, I found it easier to upload phone stuff to KZfaq on a Private, then download to my laptop. These files can then be edited with SD card info in software editing before reuploading the completed video. Bit of a long way around, but I cant save video to my laptop as its not new enough. Would love for you to check out some of my footage and let me know how I may improve:) Here is an example: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r7GBaK-TubDXnqc.html

I'd suggest using wetransfer than KZfaq, its probably easier to download because KZfaq compresses videos hard. You lose a tone of data when you upload to KZfaq. Another good method is to install Google Drive on your PC and your phone and just let all your videos sync in the background throughout the day. You will load up your pc and boom, they're right there on the desktop
