Thank you for taking us on that wonderful tour of the Sahara Hotel. My band The Gringos performed in the Casbah Lounge back in 1973. We had an 8 week engagement that was very difficult but a fantastic memory. I've got photos of the marque showing the band with Johnny Carson who headlined and Sony and Cher. Those days in Las Vegas were magic. Nothing like the town is today. There was a lot of class, style and respect for all things great.

The Sahara is a nice place to stay especially if wanting to not be in the larger crowded conditions, the Strat is very close for easy visiting.. also the monorail starts at the sahara with easy accessibility to all the strip casinos.. great video Dani.. 👍

I agree. Its nice to be at a quieter spot but the easy access with the monorail to the busier side of the strip is so convenient.

Thanks Dani. I liked the Sahara when I was in there a couple years ago. They really fixed the place up. The retro “not too big” size of the casino is a nice change. I also like the bar in there and hit for 4 Aces on the video poker. 😀

Great video! We sayed at the Sahara during spring break 2006. The monorail took us to south end of the Strip each day. We joined Club Saharah and got player's cards with our names on it. Everyday we ate at the Saharah Buffet using BOGO cupons from the player's club. I had a milkshake at the Caravan Cafe one night. No one would go on Speed - The Ride with me so I sadly didn't do the roller coaster. Next to the hotel was the abandoned Wet 'n Wild, which I thought was cool because it was in Honey, I Blew Up the Kid.

Really enjoyed going to the nascar cafe back in the day , They had high-end driving simulators for NASCAR and indy car , I'm a sucker for old vegas also , Beautiful place though , Great job guys thank you

I don't remember the simulator but I was reading about it. I have a vague memoire of the café but I remember the rollercoaster pretty well.

@@Dani702 That race simulator was not my favorite. The action of the car was wrong when compared to what the eyes were seeing and I had to just stop driving and shut my eyes before I hurled. Strange because I do not get carsick at any other time.

@@Dani702 Yes, we we did Birdly. I did the ocean, my fiance did New York. We went on the hangliding inside. I wanted to do Virtualis but it was too much for 3 adults. It was fun! We stayed inside that was air-conditioned so that was bonus points!! We allowed about 2 hrs. ❤️

Same! I wish I could time travel to see some of the prime days. I used to live in LA and worked at a "hollywood restaurant" and saw some celebrity's. I think George Clooney or Will Smith are the biggest names I saw.

Nice renovations. I think the "problem" with Sahara is their location. It seems that the whole "start of the Strip" area gets neglected. I know Resorts World (and hopefully Fountainebleau) woll change that. Even with Circus Circus' changes, more attention will be brought to the north end. Great vid again guys.

I agree. Everything is so spread out on that end its hard to get around. Even with Big blue opening. The convention space, the festival grounds, the luxury apartments, and the spaces with nothing take up to much of the area for an easy walk. The free parking helps but I think the strat and resorts world started charging most guest.

@Dani702 yeah, I really don't see "free parking" being around much longer, especially with The Spere. If Venetian/Palazzo are gonna cash in, Sahara (and all others! Lol) will absolutely find a way to also.

The Strip Starts at the SAHARA HOTEL, that’s the Clark County Side. The north side of the Sahara Avenue is the City of Las Vegas. The strip used to be the old highway before I-15 was built. The Strat is in the City of Las Vegas and is not part of the strip.

Ah ok. Technically was the wrong word to use. I should have said I've always included the strat as the start. From the welcome sign on the south end to the gateway sign on the north end was always "the strip" to me. Probably because that's the way they show it in maps but technically wrong. haha. Makes sense though, thanks for clearing that up.

Dani love your channel come to LV 4 times a year but do your homework technically Strip starts at Sahara at the north end The Strat technically is not on the strip which runs from Sahara to Russell Rd on the south end😅keep up the great work at the end of day who actually cares LOL

Ah yes, "technically" was the wrong word. I meant I think most consider the Strat as part of "the strip". Especially with the Gateway arch saying Las Vegas. I've always thought of the strip being welcome to Las Vegas sign to Las Vegas gateway sign. I'm sure I am technically wrong though haha.

@@Dani702 Fortunately, I can relate to what you have scribed above. My father used to scribe with his left hand. My father would also wear a watch on his left wrist; albeit he did so seldomly. While wearing a watch on his left wrist, my father used to suffer terrible heat rashes on his skin. So, instead of wristwatches, my father would rely upon pocket watches to measure the time of day. And he would safeguard his pocket watches inside his left front pants' pockets as well.

I stayed at the Sahara once and the place was a dump. The check in was a nightmare, the room was full of crappy old furniture, the card room was folding tables and old restaurant chairs and the only show I saw was a hooker being arrested. Thank goodness they fixed it up.

I liked that it was quieter then most on of the Strip. But, I know nothing about gaming. I'm thinking off-strip and DT property's would be the best bet for that.

Unless you're okay with $50-$100 minimums, the strip is probably the worst place in America to play blackjack. However, Vegas isn't all bad. Some of the downtown casinos and most of the off strip "locals" places have good low limit blackjack. Do your gambling there.

As a non gamer who has never played in really life, i had to lookup what 6:5 meant. Pretty interesting. I've never played other than on an old intellivision I've had since from 1982 😊. I'm an older video gamer, living the life now with a Nintendo switch. 😂

It’s just another fancy high end new casino,used to play in reno other casino he owned grand sierra,bad comps and they charge for every little thing,changed casinos.

This resort is the worst piece of shit i ve ever went in my life. People there are not sweet , insulting customers , rooms are dirty and not done , to get towels you have to ask ten times , sad that the location of this hotel il great. This entire complexe is a giant turd sandwich
