In the north of Chad, in the heart of the Sahara desert, lies a forgotten mountain massif, which shelters, in its secret canyons, a flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty.
In 1950, Hubert Gillet, a professor at the Museum of Natural History in Paris, began to explore this lost paradise. For more than a decade, he traveled through these mysterious mountains, on the back of a camel, discovering “a unique flora and fauna, relics of a golden age, which has survived in the depths of the Sahara Desert”.
Even today, access to the Ennedi massif is difficult, and only a few rare nomads have been privileged enough to penetrate the heart of this astounding massif.
Documentary: “Sahara's secret garden”
Direction: Gauthier Flauder
Production: ZED & France Télévisions

What a beautiful documentary, thank you for the posting. It's glorious. I wonder how many boys in the west of the age of the lad in this story, would happily throw away their computers, toss away their mobile phones, abandon for ever computer games and the virtual world, to go and live like him, in quiet purity, with a herd of camels, in utter balance and harmony with everything that has real value on earth? And by the way, the solo singing of the man in this documentary is completely beautiful.

Paradise is in the afterlife, not in this world. Actually ,There is no mistake in The Quran but there is many mistakes in the Bible that the Quran mentions correctly such as the position of the leader in Egypt in the society of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph). The Quran mentions he was a king and the Bible mentions he was a pharaoh. The Quran is correct and more recently the Rosetta Stone was decoded and what was found is that leader was a king and not a pharaoh. Islam is The true religion with undeniable proof and evidence. We Muslims believe in Jesus but not as God and we don’t believe God has a son. Jesus peace be upon him is a prophet and Messenger Of Allah (God) and he is the messiah. He wasn’t killed as Allah saved him before they could get to him. There is also scientific and historical miracles mentioned in the Quran such as the formation of the human embryo as well as the creation of honey in bees. There are Islamic prophecies that came true and will come true and I recommend everyone to try and learn about them. I myself know of people who were ill and suffering with issues (including black magic) and got cured miraculously when the Quran was recited over them. I invite everyone to learn about Islam.

Upon seeing this singular Sahara desert doc. again today, the following thought crossed my mind ; albeit most of us comment on those photographers who had to spend nights & days w/ an infinite patience in order to procure those momentous shots one after another in the face of some adverse conditions, I feel both a script writer & a narrator deserve my kudos for a job well done. The script writer who is brilliant & sagacious & the narrator w/ a sort of soft-pitched & dignified tone of voice significantly contribute to the enhancement of a wealth of intrigue, thrill, & excitement on this documentary. Thus, they certainly deserve a huge pat on the back.,,,,,I wonder if anyone else perceive the same as me?!,,,,,Many thanks,,,,,From California,,,,,,(01/22/23)

This is utterly exotic & rare natural beauty of the Sahara's secret garden, i.e., I usually associate the desert w/ interminable sand dune (when it comes to the deserts such as Sahara, Gobi, Taklamakan etc.), but this doc. pleasantly surprised me w/ that ineffable extreme & yet resplendent landscape w/ the one & only one spectacular sceneries, which differentiates itself from the other desert documentaries. Furthermore, people can survive w/ the minimal provision & of course water even in such harsh hostile & extreme place, that is simply amazing & mind-blowing!!! Many thanks.,,,,,(05/18/22)
