Well it’s an honest review! I’m a Permanent Resident here and been living for past 5 years now. One thing I’ll be honest enough is you’ll never be satisfied in Canada, whether it may be money, job or anything else. Moreover family perspective is damn true, I’ve been away from my family and freinds since 5 years and it’s actually killing me. My parents are ageing and in the times I need to be with them I’m away from them. Moreover it’s a damn cold country so there’s nothing much to do, especially northern provinces. You won’t feel like working or doing anything, just trying to keep warm and spending dollars. I’ve never been so depressed in my life ever as I’m right now. I moved here for a better life but it doesn’t seem to be the same. I’ll probably survive one more year and probably go back to India after that 🇮🇳 Although I’m a PR but making this decision has a lot to do with mental well being. There’s 0 means to socialize, systemic racism (Good Canadians, racist Canadians, Punjabi’s preferring Punjabi’s, Gujarati’s preferring Gujarati’s and South’s preferring South’s) etc There’s lots happening in this country 🥲 It’s not a bad country whatsoever, it all depends on your priorities and what kind of life you want to lead. You can ask me questions if you need help 😉

@@liamjose8012 well travel out of Kerala then. Go to UP or Maharashtra or North India and feel the pinch. You will be called all sorts of names from Kalia to idli sambhar. So bottom line is no grass is greener. If you have moved to Canada, you have moved to a place where you will find thousands of immigrants like yourself with different mindset. What's most important is the quality of life you live. If you think that isn't great either then return back to your beloved Kerala

@@staryeyedify Firstly, I have traveled to the Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi and nobody called me any of those. I am not entirely disagreeing to your point though. Some Indians do make fun of others but its blow out of proportion in the internet. I've seen Canada too. If you think there isn't racism in Canada due to these immigrants, you're living in a fantasy. If you think its less than your state, you're living in a fantasy.

Please stop saying health care is free in Canada. You pay taxes which in turn is re-allocated for different purposes, health care being one. Maybe free for some folks which I won't go into details. But seriously folks, stop watching YT and day dream. Immigrating to a new country is not for the faint of heart unless you are super rich and just want Canadian PR or citizenship as a safety net. If you are really serious and willing to struggle and sacrifice for a few years, most immigrants do succeed. One person's VLOG on YT does not translate into same experience for everyone. If you have a strong reason to leave your past life behind, you will succeed. If you expect your life to be honey and sugar just by getting to Canada, you will be sorely disappointed.

Hey Sahil, I have watched your video in its entirety and with all due respect, IMO the comparison isn’t fair. Please allow me to share my thoughts and inputs on what would have made it a fair comparison. The video does say in the beginning that the comparison would be with someone who has a decent paying job however most of the points made in the comparison sound as the comparison is based on someone who is not decently settled in India. To begin a fair comparison one needs to know, first, about how one’s doing in India and how much is the candidate earning to be able to call as a decent paying job and then comparing it with someone who is now a PR and have spent a minimum of two years in Canada and now where he or she stands in terms of financial standing, mental peace and ease of work and work-life balance. Things that I think also have to be touched: Rent Vs Owned House Car Vs No Car House Help/Office Help vs No help Car Insurance Per Month in Canada Vs Annual Insurance Expenses Grocery and other monthly expenses Decent paying jobs like (CAD 80,000 for a couple Vs INR 4,00,000 per couple) take the time and effort into consideration that a couple will take to reach a total of CAD 80,000 unless you are an exceptionally skilled worker. We see couples sharing success stories all over KZfaq but the sad thing is no one explains or shares their struggles or sacrifices that they had to make for what they are today in Canada and how long did it take for them to reach a level where they were already at par in India. In short I would say there is no doubt that Canada is a land of opportunities but IMO, only for those who are either into an exceptional skill or earning less than decent in their life in India and are used to the struggles or for students who are starting their professional career. For someone who is earning decent may be as low as just INR 1 to 2 hundred thousand a month has a stable job or business, has owned a house or lives with family, drives a decent car, and is used to house or office help has no need to migrate to Canada and start fresh especially in recent times when there is so much unemployment already in Canada so it is obvious those who are already there in Canada with Canadian experience will be preferred first. If you ask recent PRs as to why they left everything behind and came to Canada in their middle age when they were well settled in India most would say we’ve come here for a better future for our kids and settle them, but the fact if the matter is when these kids will grow up they will leave you and settle away from you permanently making you feel why did you even sacrificed your life and stayed away from your family and parents for the kids when one day they had to leave you, sad but true. I can go on but this is not the right platform and I do not want to highjack the community space. I would request you to consider these thoughts and probably do a remake of this video one more time. I will be more than happy to be a part of that shoot if the need is giving you an honest opinion of what runs in your mind when one thinks of migrating to Canada. Yours truly, An aspiring immigrant

@@samzanaraut I don’t intend to stop or discourage anyone trying to immigrate, please do not take my message in a negative way. I just mentioned to the author that the comparison was not fair and just mentioned the points that make a big impact. You just listen and watch the success stories on KZfaq or other blogs the ground reality is different. How many those who come back would come on KZfaq and say that they couldn’t make it. Hardly any. I was just trying to explain the struggle and keep the expenses in mind specially at a time when unemployment rate in Canada at 10% is at its highest. Thus, if you are middle aged, already doing well in your country, the move isn’t worth it. PS: You sound educated so please do not use unprofessional words and keep a check on your language. You want to debate, I am up for it, but please do it constructively. Thank you for your understanding. PS: Original comment deleted by the user in response.

However rich you may be in India, but you cannot escape the pollution, crowds, traffic, chaos and corruption. And I will not even start with the return on the taxes you pay. No amount of family support can counter this. People are flocking to canada for a reason. It makes sense to live in India if you have a large inheritance. It should either be a Black money generating business OR a farm with 20+ acres. It also makes sense to live in India if your family is well connected and powerful.

I used to like Vancouver but not anymore, so does my wife and so do my 3 daughters! To me it sums up to those: EXPENSIVE rents, a few nice people but lots of miserable and strange people, many materialistic girls many of when are not worth the deal (believe it or not…lots of girls here in Canada have sugar daddies… but it is not known outside of Canada right?) and inaccessible while being average looking girls (French or Belgian girls are way more sociable and charming than Vancouver ones who keep waiting for the perfect and rich boy.. a bit like a 5 year old believing in Santa Klaus), lots of people with depression, crap weather (no, rain is no better than snow, sorry but may be I am Belgian so…), many people have long face and seem unhappy, Frustrated with their lives but also frustrated where I am thinking as all relationships you can dream of are just SUPERFICIAL ones… honestly, I do not blame why so many migrants - like me - decide to head back to Europe (better girls, cheaper rent and houses and higher pensions than the Canadian CPP) or for some others who do not speak French, many head to the US or just leave back home as home is sometimes better than Canada (high taxes, sooo expensive and you save zero at the end o f the year). I also heard about horror stories at many hospitals (and yes, I have worked in Africa and to be honest, Africans hospitals are way more functional than the ones in Canada in terms of human aspect… there they care, Canadians do not give a shit about anyone!!! I am saying this as a Belgian)! I have some African colleagues at work here and 70-80 percent of them either want to go back to Africa (as there they will pay much less taxes than in a Canada and have the possibility to start their own business rather than work and pay GST and see long face people on buses or on the street in Vancouver)or move to Europe as soon as they get enough experience in canada)! Same go for most of my French colleagues as well who really want to head off back to Europe (France mainly) as soon as they finish their contract. Almost None of us at work , including me, want to retire or get old here in Canada and endure loneliness in a country that wants to look “cool” and “open minded” when it is in fact an expensive fridge and a society where being anti-social is accepted (unlike Europe) and systemic racism does exist but when you try to address it, some say “look at the Americans” ; well at least (white) Americans dared to say to the world it has not been nice at all in the 1960s… Another thing that you won’t find out on KZfaq is that there are many scams here in Canada! How many times have I received a message on my responder stating it is from the tax department asking for money… my advice: never pay anything or ask to the department directly in case of doubt; I also received sms stating that the department owes me money and asks to fill up information … beware, trap! Lately, on an electronic platform, some hackers managed to take some of my investment away to put in on a crypto account… No one can say who it was except that the “stealing” originated from eastern Canada! Fortunately for me, I was very slow to add the biggest portion of money, otherwise I would have been really screw now! I hope that this something bad happens to that person… I just pray that he loses so much money! In regards to hospitals here…None of us want to endure the triage system at Canadian hospitals or wait for months to get a surgery (in Europe, we will not have to face that). Last thing, I am tired of hearing that America is sooo bad and this country is just doing sooo well! Well look at how moody some people are like : kzfaq.infoUUWBAr-mkm4?feature=share Honestly, for a country that claims itself to be “cool” and “we are better than the Americans mentality”, even during my 5 year spent in Africa, And my whole youth spent in Belgium and France (and 3 years working in the neighborhing United states), I have ever ever seen such aggressive attitude! Just this January, I witnessed a stupid “local” driver who was abusing with honking the guy in front of him! I nodded my head …well, sorry .. I am not Canadian (even if I can be mistaken for one) … but in Europe we do that a lot but apparently here, it is schoked some people who are sooo used to see people not reacting. Just like my French and non-French coworkers, We can’t wait to be back in Europe as all of us are tired of Vancouver, tired of fakeness and tired of seeing so many depressed and antisocial people; also tired of not saving money and enduring 15 nonstop day-rain. To me, this place is fakely nice and gives very false impression- particularly to immigrants many of whom are deceived that they end up in survival jobs that in the end, bring many down! Aurely in Europe we have issues as well but At least in Europe, we do not give you visas unless a Belgian, a French or a German company hires you so I won’t end up in survival jobs unless you are an illegal alien and you are under qualified!

Healthcare in India is also free if you are employed anywhere decent , every company pays for healthcare insurance and I remember with my insurance I could just walk to MAX hospitals and other such hospitals without having to pay a penny , and also if ou have to get operated you can get everything treated for free if you are willing to wait a bit in queue . I don't know why indian people hype so much about Canadian healthcare

The things which are attractive in Canada are 1. Memorizing views in summer 2. Buying expensive phones, clothes, food and cars easily 3. Clean surroundings The things which kills you everyday in Canada 1. No family ( parents, siblings, relatives and Indian friends) even though your parents move here, you will feel they are not liking it here and are just living because of you ....99 % Indian parents love India no matter 2. PAYING HUUUUGE TAXESS.... 3. Too much unnecessary rules and instructions.. 4. Even after 15 years of settling, you still treated as immigrant

Everything else was bang on but about the job perspective as you implied only few professions are blessed with a good pay not for everyone. So some professionals always have to live a middle or average class in Canada while others are paid very high. So please do proper research before coming to Canada if you were at a good position in India

I have 17 patents, 213 publications in software technology and AI. If income parity makes CEO/CTO and Uber driver earns same.. then i don't feel worth . If i am average and earn equivalent to highly skilled people , i feel very happy. I think, this is the reason behind, people say in Bangalore.. If you are average or waste.. move to Canada or Australia. For medicore , it's definitely great life.

If you have children here, they will be adjusted better. You will forever be a 1st generation immigrant, there are good and bad sides to it. Consider that. It is good to experience more of the world in one’s lifetime but there are financial, social, cultural aspects that should be considered. It is a very mixed bag. Canada itself is not better or worse than any other place, unless you come from a very unsafe, war torn area.

What about the social security in terms of being paid children allowance from the time a child is born to the age of 18 yrs, for free medical facility that is equal for all and there are no use of having connections or influence. In India one is really scared of the situation when something goes wrong with a person who is in politics or the person is working at higher level. There is nothing like social security and law and order in India is worse while in Canada law and order is excellant . While there are weather conditions but in canada air pollution campare that to India, water pollution? Adulteration of food items and cheating by business etc are at its lowest level. Is it correct?
