Sailing and cycling around the Dutch Wadden Sea, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the perfect way to feel relaxed! I am on the Sail & Bike Wadden Sea tour with Boat Bike Tours. Starting and ending in Enkhuizen.

Every day we end up at a different place, where we sleep and enjoy a three-course meal on the ship, three-master Mare fan Fryslân. We cycle over the dike from Enkhuizen to Medemblik, visit Wadden islands Texel and Terschelling and then head to province Friesland, where we cycle from Harlingen to Franeker, Makkum and Stavoren. Last but not least: crossing the IJsselmeer.

Hello Jessica - my husband (Steve Retired and Cycling) and I enjoyed your video. You did a great job. We can't come to the Netherlands this year but are crossing our fingers for 2022 or 2023.

Loved this video! Amazing photography and what I enjoy the most is your verbal descriptions. When you described what you enjoy about cycling (and sailors would agree) was perfectly said. I do feel more alive when I cycle!! In the natural world, not departed from it. Thank you!!!!

It's the feeling of being connected with nature that's the best part of cycling for me. It's unusually warm in the UK at the moment, as you were sailing along I tried to imagine the cooling sea air!.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, there were some terrible floods in The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany recently, I know some people who live in those areas, they are all ok (‘just’ some material damage). My house is next to a different river, the Lek, which didnt rise as much… but it reminded me how fragile we are, living in a country with so much water.

I am sure a strict vegetarian or vegan would fit in! I can’t have any gluten and the chef was very creative and helpful. He told me he cooked for vegans as well.

What was the age range on the trip? Were there many solo travellers? Thank you!

Age range is mostly 50-65, some in their forties or seventies. On this trip there were no solo travellers I think, but you could always ask the travel organisation (Boat Bike Tours) if they maybe have a tour coming up with (more) solo travellers.

@@Fietsvlogger Thanks for the response! I booked it for late September. I can't wait :) It looks like such a great way to stay physically active and mentally relax on a holiday.
