We continue on our journey in Norway, where we're going up into the high arctic, and on to Svalbard.
In this episode, we're sailing from the town of Ålesund on the Norwegian coast to the Island of Lovund in the municipality of Lurøy Nordland county, with a few stops on the way.

So glad I found your videos. Jet skis should be banned, they are a pain in the ar.e especially in a beautiful quiet anchorage. We sailed from falmouth to Mull last year but sadly no further North due to very unsettled weather. We are planning to head back there this summer having done a lot of refitting work on our Sweden Yacht 36 Occus. The Norwegian coast looks spectacular. Great boat you have. Fairwinds.

Yes, Norway was spectacular. You're in for a treat though too, if you're heading back to the west coast of Scotland. If you're partial to a nice quiet anchorage and don't already know about them. Check out www.antarescharts.co.uk/ These are small-scale pilotage charts for some of the best (and less frequented) anchorages in Scotland and are very useful in some of the tighter spots.

@@SailingHiraeth Thanks for the heads-up, I already use Antares charts. Our plan is to get to the Shetlands as I am keen to retrace some steps I made as a small boy in 1966 when my father took us there from Norfolk in a 26’ Atalanta. Father, mother, 4 children and a fully grown Golden Retriever, mad but great memories. It was a trip we made 3 times and a fourth one got us ‘only to the Orkneys’. I’ve spent far too much time sailing ever since!

Another great video, and another place to add to my must-visit list. Nuisance jet-skiers aside, the Norwegian coast looks like the kind of place I’d love to explore in the summertime. With millions of acres of verdant forest hugging the shoreline, periodically punctuated by gnarled outcrops of ancient granite, there’s just so much to see yet there’s hardly anyone there, and not only that, you’ve got twenty hours of sunlight every day. If you’re into sailing, climbing or just old-fashioned hillwalking I can’t imagine a better location, although, the distant white peaks suggest that it might not be the most hospitable environment in the depths of winter, but I’m sure even then it’s not without its charms.

Enjoying your videos. I went to Norway a long time and it rained 90% of the 6 weeks I was there. Bergen gets more rain than any city in the world with only 63 days of sunshine a year!!! The shot of Mark on the picnic table had me rolling on the floor!! When you are tired... Looking forward to more fantastic videos.

Beautiful scenery (I want to go.......) and the music was a perfect accompaniment. I enjoyed the laid-back humour, too and I'm still amazed at your understated approach to the sailing, some of which looked slightly more than a casual cruise on the Clyde! I'm looking forward to more.

Great vid and some amazing scenery, not sure you’ll see Gill and the dogs on that coastal “ walk” anytime soon though.

I always hope the jetski has a small fuel tank. There's talk of electric ones so maybe they will be quieter. Keep going till the butter freezes.

Awesome guys' what an adventure, amazing photography and voice overs. We didn't know Miles could play guitar like that.... Haha, well guess he has had plenty of time to practice while waiting for the wind to blow. Hooning jetskiiers......Can''t get away from them. love Andy & Les xx

10:24 Whether you know it or not, you are feeding into the reputation Norwegians love about themselves. You're extremely diplomatic; you could easily serve as Britain's ambassador to Norway.

that was 'proper' sailing. i see too many sailing videos where people buy a boat and head for the tropics without giving a thought to the colder, yet more beautiful areas of the world
