Dear Maya and Aladino. Have you seen the hilariously funny T-shirt that Andy (Sailing Melody) was wearing in one of the last episodes? It says: I'm no Aladino! 😁😁😁 This is one of the biggest compliments ever (at least in my opinion). Simply because of the fact, that you set new quality standards for fibreglass sailing boat restoration worldwide. Just like Leo Sampson Goolden did for wooden sailing boats.

Bluetti recognizes a quality vehicle to showcase their products, which is why they invested with you. In addition to Aladino’s superb craftsmanship, Maya, this channel wouldn’t be where it is without your time investment and skill at editing the videos, picking out the beautiful music and framing how to deliver the end product. That takes imagination and creativity. Plus we all love your melodic voice and good looks. 😉. I don’t miss an episode!

Kudos to Bluetti for their sponsorship of that beautiful-looking (and doubtless expensive) solar energy/battery system. With the big subscriber population for this channel, they should get lots of positive exposure - as a sailor myself I can say that I am already taking a serious look at these components for my own yacht! It is always educational to see Aladino working on something as thought and labour-intensive as installing those chainplates. He always has the right ideas for materials and installation, carefully thinks the project through before starting work, and seems to always have the best (or best available) tools at hand to do the job. If you ever find yourself in need of income once you begin your offshore life, there is no doubt that his skills would would be in high demand at any port of call where the skills of an experienced professional boatbuilder are needed!

I have to admit that the Bluetti was on the top end of our budget, but a friend researched the life out of these things. The Bluetti had 50% more charge cycles than the nearest competitor back when we got ours in 2021. We were looking to buy a lithium battery, with an inverter and DC/DC charger and then building an enclosure and honestly the Bluetti beats that price hands down because it has all of that in one box and it all talks nicely within itself.

It’s incredible how cleanly Aladino works. Always vacucleaner at hand, immediately cleaning up during/after each step. Happy that Bluetti decided to sponsor you two. You deserve it 👍🏻. Also a bit envious looking at that kit but then I realize that my 22ft sailing boat would tilt to one side if I would bring those big heavy boxes onboard 😁😁

Thank you for another interesting and enjoyable video. I have watched since Mya bought her first boat and have commented only once, that i can recall. I spent 5 years fixing up my motor boat here in Ireland for extended cruising in river and canal in Europe. We spent 2 summers cruising up Seine, France, Netherland and Belgium. Then covid, now my wife is not well enough for extended time away. I wish i had, had a rougher boat and gone 5 years earlier. So go in 2025 no matter what. We had 4 children and got them all through university without them having debt, i would do the same again but it took over 30 years. So even you youngsters may not have as much time as you think. The world is also getting very unstable and it may not always be possible to sail the oceans, as was the case for my grandfather. So go and good luck.

Hey Youse Guys! I just wanted to say, with complete honesty, congratulations on holding an audience with so many *dry, technical, episodes! 😂 I say this with love and respect. Sheesh!?! Wow… I stumbled upon your channel about 4 years ago and, I must say, you soulfulness and integrity have captured my heart. Thank you for all your hard work documenting this very long, laborious, sensational, refit. I hold you 2 in highest esteem and hope you continue on with this living, breathing novel you are living. Perhaps one day, we shall meet? lol… my wife and I are in our early 60’s and also “young sailors” We bought our boat at the very beginning of the world wide, foolish pandemic. 😬. We wanted to escape! I think we will not have enough time to gain the experience to be as ambitious as the 2 of you BUT, we have gained enough experience to be coastal sailors and life aboard part time. I am *trusting your word that you read all of these? Lol. I have watched so many episodes, I believe you. I figure, this will be my swan song comment! 🤣. So I say to you both: thank you for your gift of sharing all this knowledge and experience. I hope you continue to benefit from the audience you have built and please know many of us are cheering for your future adventures and episodes. With a humble heart, Mike & Lisa 😊

I watch a few other channels with people sailing their boats everywhere, like Captain Rick Moore, sailing Sophisticated Lady, for example, and his beautiful family. He has done extensive onboard testing of several good name brand solar generators. I value his honesty and complete testing of such products. I'm sure you have one of the best ones out there, for your situation. I myself, love to research anything that I plan on spending my hard earned dollars on, and using for any good length of time. Using carriage bolts is an excellent choice for your application, by the way. I love watching your mind's eye in action. Be safe always, from the Philippines.

all i can say is attach the solar panels to the boat, the wind can catch them and blow them into the water, and they will only float long enough to give you a hope of recovering them. I use a much smaller (650W) system on my boat, and trust me after losing a panel, mine are now always tied to the boat.

So exciting to see how the boat is coming along. Exciting and beautiful, even the bolt placements 😂I also really appreciate your honesty and humbled discussion about sponsorships. This is how it should be. IMO To be paid like a job for sponsorships is like a used car salesman in a brown suit. This doesn’t mean used car salesman are bad, it just means they need to learn more about what your character represents and maybe step up your presentation tactics a notch. Your presentation is 110% what the pitched sponsors come across. Very respected! Keep up the great job.

Great episode as usual. I don't spruik or recommend stuff myself unless it is good. Bluetti is one I would recommend. We only bought one for camping because it had the best number of recharge cycles. In practice it became a game changer. I put a 24 volt step up in our 4x4 so that it would charge quickly and set it on a tray next to our fridge. It runs the fridge continually for 3 days but recharges very quickly from the alternator. It means we don't need a dual battery system in the car which costs $$$ and you never have that nagging worry that the car battery will flatten. It will also run the same fridge as a freezer on our boat. It is like a giant power bank and solves a lot of problems in one package because it is also an inverter. Nobody asked me or rewarded me for this comment but I think your thinking is on point to go this way.

Tickles me to see how precisely you make things fit. Getting it done right is the best mechanical strength as y'all well know. I would even drill and tap wood to keep out water, not that it's needed here but as close to waterproof as possible using a standard bolt not a carriage bolt and using marine grsde 5500 sealant which expands if any water ever touches it.
