It would be a good idea to put a cap on the bottom of that deck fitting to prevent anyone from dumping fuel into the wrong hole. Houdini certainly is a beautiful boat. It's great to see you sailing again.

tools are not only a necessity but GOOD not cheap tools and as I have discussed to many sailors that some tools cannot be substituted with the wrong tools, I my 46 years as a professional tech I can not stress that enough.

Usually belts squeaky when the belt tensioner is adjusted too tight as well.. if it gets oil on it. ..that's is what causes a squeaky noise often. Bit most of the time it's the tensioner. Just loosen it a little solves the problem

You can save on fuel by going to the supplier for heating oil and buy OFFROAD diesel, bout a dollar saving per gallon.

Yes it’s completely fine and a lot of people do it that way because they haven’t head of delivery trucks for diesel.

Should be easy to dock, just use the fenders. "What are fenders? - Those rubber bumper things." (sorry, someone had to say it)

Sure, you cap that fuel fill inlet so no accidents happen, and fill your entire cabin up with fuel. Put a cover over with those clamps or something.

Bucket and a high heel? Typically the bolts at West Marine are all in the one corner. Stainless steel is neat but not necessarily strong. Fair winds and smooth sailing.

Stuff a rag in the open fuel inlet so you don't get fuel in the wrong place.

One could use off-road Diesel fuel on a boat as it not using the roadways so no tax red colored fuel should be fine. the Gas station your paying road taxes

Never shut your motor off until you set the anchor.... use the motor to set the anchor and make sure you have power to get out of a sticky situation, just in case the anchor does not set
