Sailing NOHMA

Күн бұрын

We were still enjoying the boat life in Martinique to the fullest; sunshine and crystal clear water is all you need here. But after some time relaxing in the Bay of Saint Anne, we were itching to go out sailing again. We decided to go on a day trip to Les Salines, just around the corner. And a few days later we decided it was time to discover some other places in Martinique before we had to leave. We prepared to sail along the west coast of Martinique.
Our first stop would be in Anse d’Arlet, after about 2,5 hours of sailing. It was a relaxed, sunny and calm trip. We dropped our anchor a little south of Anse d’Arlet, in Anse Chaudiere and tidied up the boat before enjoying a beautiful sunset.
Join us again next week to discover this beautiful bay and to sail further along the coast.

Thanks for watching! Or boys are having a great time indeed. We teach our children to have respect for one and other. And they can wear their hair as long as they want, I think they look super cool with it. You know, they are actually waiting to cut it until it's long enough to donate some to the cancer foundation.

Now that you mentioned the volcano, are these videos quite behind in real time? I was also curious about your dinghy - does that get stowed on long sails, or does it always trail behind the boat? Thank you for sharing your journey - love to see how happy and free the kids are, and loved the underwater snorkelling shots!
@SailingNohma
@SailingNohma 2 жыл бұрын
Yes we are running behind quite a bit at the moment, but we'll catch up soon enough I think. Our dinghy gets lifted out of the water at the back of the boat every evening and whenever we go sailing. The kids love life on the water and the underwaterworld is stunning! Thanks for watching!

Would you want to make some sectioned mesh bags to hold the ropes by the winch to keep them organized?
@SailingNohma
@SailingNohma 2 жыл бұрын
Don't know if there is enough space to hang mesh bags to store away all the lines, there are a lot. Have been thinking about a solution for a while. It's only really a problem when we drop the mainsail. We made a habit of tidying up the lines right away, works for now. Thanks!
@CharleyGeorge
@CharleyGeorge 2 жыл бұрын
@@SailingNohma yeah I have seen other boats have a spot to drop the ends into some spot. I have seen other people create bags to make sure and keep them out of the way. There is surely something else that may help/ Good luck I hope you figure it out soon. To me it looked a bit dangerous. Even if you tidy the lines up there are so many. What if you are going to sail wing on wing with the two from sails or the main and one of the sails in the front. That would be so very many lines. Just thinking of the boys running around. I was a pretty rambunctious young man.

For each and every bolt and shackle you should put a safety stainless wire on it so it does not back out. I am surprised the manufacturer did not do that.
