The New Orleans Saints QB competition has been dominating the headlines this offseason. And this latest update is the most interesting sign yet for the Saints. A Saints legend is backing Spencer Rattler as a potential great next quarterback. This is great news both for the New Orleans Saints and Spencer Rattler.

I'm a New Orleans native born in the 70s I remember Archie when I was a little boy playing Pop Warner football. I idolized him then and more recently his sons. Now he has a grandson named Arch and I can't wait to keep up with his career. As I got older I moved on to Terry Bradshaw and Dan Marino. Then most recently, I've become a Drew Brees fan of course. I've watched Spencer rattler in college starting in Oklahoma all the way to South Carolina. I watched his career more so at South Carolina due to his affiliation with the SEC, because of course I'm an LSU fan. I said all that to say this, I'm really hoping he has an outstanding career with the saints and I'm looking forward to him being with us for a long long time and doing a very very good job. This young man has all the physical tools needed to be a great QB in the NFL, if his mental game can stay up to par with his physical game we are in for a treat down here on the bayou. N O L A baby, who dat who dat!!!!! Ready for another super bowl, let's go!!!

Rattler has all the tools. If he can put it together, he'll outdo Carr, Haener, or any other QB. Can he, time will tell. I'm pulling for him.

Well, he got replaced by the No 1 overall draft pick and then played at what really seems like a pretty bad school. Lots of hero ball. There's speculation people didn't like how he was depicted on some reality show he was on in high school. Iirc somebody said the Saints had him pegged as like 2nd or 3rd round and we got him in the 5th

Crap about him when he was a high school player. Supposedly arrogant. I’m a Gamecock fan and watched for two years play behind a horrible oline and basically no running game and he excelled.

He's physically gifted, but he won't rally a team around him. He's not a leader. A real leader is Roger Staubach. Led Navy to a number 2 ranking. The team believed in him and played their ass off to win games. Lost to number 1 Pittsburgh who won the National title that year. A great leader brings out the best in his teammates. Players won't quit even when they're down and seems hopeless. Spencer Rattler doesn't have that love of competition. He quit at Oklahoma. He went to South Carolina to avoid competition.

Rattler has all the physical, mental, and leadership skills needed to succeed at the toughest position in sports, but does he possess the "IT" factor? Archie Manning had the IT factor, Eli had it twice against Tom Brady. Peyton had it,so did Drew Brees, Bradshaw, Stabler, Staubach, Favre, Kelly, Aikman.

I do think he is better than everyone gives him credit. Practically all year his receivers were crap on purpose. I think Michael Thomas was in everyone's ear over Carr bc he mad he isn't good anymore so he had to blame someone. Then he is a vet and I think that attitude rubbed off on alot of ppl. And then you have Chris Olave saying this season he wants to become a tier one receiver. Why now? Bc big bruh not there. I'm so glad that pos is gone. I think we will see what we paid for this season!!!
