Great show as always fellas! But I truly think you guys are underestimating how bad Pete Carmichael was last year. It's a question of faith and I truly believe the Saints are going to shock a lot of people in a good way. Right now no one knows anything for sure but I have the Saints winning at least 10 games. Thanks for the content. With respect, I don't see any truth in analyzing a schedule as far as difficulty. If the Saints come into games or stretches of the season with expectation on how the games will go, they are doomed. They need to treat the Panthers game like they are playing the Rams, and the Chiefs game like they are playing the Bucs. Go out, punch the other team in the mouth, and give yourself a chance to win every week.

Well kids the Falcons doesn't have a walk in the part to start their season!

Let's go by the gambling odds of winning the Superbowl to rank the teams into 3 different tiers. At tier 1 we'll have the favorites and we'll say any games against those teams are losses. At tier 2 we'll have the middle of the pack more or less and we'll say road games are losses to those and home games are wins. Fair enough? Then with the tier 3 teams we'll call all of those wins, whether home or away. The tiers will be groups of 10 teams unless the odds are tied, in which case we'll expand that tier to include all the tied teams. Top team is the 49er's at +500, #10 is the Texans at +2500, but since the Packers are also at +2500, we'll include them. That gives us 11 teams in tier 1. For tier 2 we begin with the team just below the Packers and outside of tier 1, the Rams at +3000. We count down 10 teams from and including the Rams, and we see the Saints at that 10th spot with odds of +7500, but since there are 4 more teams also at +7500 we include them all in tier 2, for a total of 14 teams. For tier 3 we have the bottom feeders, all at +10000 or longer odds. These are 7 teams. Tier 1 teams on the schedule: @Chiefs (L), @Cowboys (L), Eagles (L), and @Packers (L). The good news here is 3 of the 4 tier 1 games are on the road. The reason that's good news is because it means more of the winnable tier 2 games will be at home. Tier 1 record: 0-4. Tier 2 teams on the schedule: Rams (W), @Chargers (L), Browns (W), Falcons (1-1 split), Bucs (1-1 split), Raiders (W). Note: only tier 2 non-divisional road game is against the Chargers. Tier 2 record: 5-3. Tier 3 teams on the schedule: Broncos (W), Commanders (W), Giants (W), Panthers (2-0). Tier 3 record = 5-0. Add up all the tier records and you get to 10-7. Of course, this is all academic and speculative. We have no idea how good any of these teams will really be. Nobody saw Houston being nearly as good last year, for example. So, there no doubt will be wins we didn't see coming and losses we didn't see coming. But if the unexpected balance out and you get as many upsets and you are upset, then it evens out. You might not lose all 4 of those tier 1 games or win all 5 of those tier 3 games, but maybe it balances out. Getting 9 home games could be all the difference in this schedule. It's a huge advantage in a league where 1 additional win can be the difference from winning the division or missing the playoffs.

Why doesn't the NFL have week 8 as a bi for the NFC or AFC, and have division rival week during week 8 and 9? They could televise all 8 games nationwide Thursday - Monday both weeks and make a killing. I think they would have a great marketing strategy, around division rivals. Also all the teams bi weeks are fair. I am sure the NCAA could schedule games accordingly.
