This is awesome Morgan. Thank you. I have the X52 Pro and the joystick with some of the LEDs were working, but the upper mode selector wasn't with the fire buttons. I never thought about checking the throttle side and I had both the Vcc and the one next to it with bad solder joints . Glad to say it works now.

I seem to have the exact same problem, though the blue LEDs light for a split second when I plug in the USB. I cannot for the life of me find a bad connection, and most areas seem to be getting just under 5V (like 4.2 or 4.7) and the LED leads read about 0.8V This doesn't seem to change when the LEDs light on initial power. Your video is great and introduced me to the inner workings of my HOTAS and I was very optimistic that you'd solved the issue, but the true culprit continues to evade me. What sucks the most is that I bought this just before Covid-19 hit, and every time we lockdown I stay with friends, so I've maybe had a total of 20 hours on the thing before it crapped out. Maybe I'll check e-bay for a second hand one and see if I can locate the problem using a working unit. Edit: The break was INSIDE the handle. Power failed to get to the PCB which is for some reason damned near impossible to access.

i am getting 4.09V between throttle and joystick but joystick is unresponsive but all the lights on joystick is on and throttle working 100 percent, but the whole joystick with all its buttons is unresponsive. please help

as soon as you said there wasn't enough power, I decided to put it in USB3 port and it started working.

That solved my X52 Pro thank you. But going to just rewire it so that doesn't happen again.

Could you give pin out for PS2 on joystick to board in joystick. I have bought a broken one on eBay and it's been directly soldered to board. Only shows power with nothing else working. Like yours. I checked vcc on throttle all good and solid connection. Noticed there are seven cables on joystick board but only 6 cables for PS2 any assistance great fully received

Make sure to check your pins in the plug, I found that one of the contacts was bent and I just used a knife to bend it back, Be careful though

Hi Morgan, I have a problem with my X52, suddenly Windows 10 dos not recognize the Hotas, I have tried to reinstall the drivers but no way, lights are on when connected the equipment, is there a way to use directly the stick to the usb port? or another way to use it?, your comments will be higly appreciated

Hello Morgan, Thanks for the video - I did extra plug for my x52 after problem with random shutdown of the joystick only (throttle is working perfectly) I did voltage check and my stick getting 4.2V input from the throttle PCB.... any idea that can help? Thank you!

My flight stick lights up but the buttons don’t work

I am late to this and enjoyed your video but I have now experienced a similar issue. The stick buttons all light up EXCEPT for the T3 and T4 (centre one of the three chrome colored switches). The stick is recognised by Windows. I cannot change any of the LED colors for the buttons and the stick axis is dead. The throttle is fully functional. Drivers reinstalled and a new male to male cable bought. Device manager checked and ok. All wires in stick checked and secure. I guess logic would say the offending switch is dead.....and I am wondering if there is a way to disconnect that switch to bring the stick back?

I have x52 Pro, I had only all lights turn on when I connected this to my pc.. this fix didnt help me per-say BUT as I was starting to open the throttle.. I realized that it also had ps2 port.. and that I wasnt supposed to plug in the joystick to my pc XDD soo thaanks I guess XD

Hey... whilst you have it open... now's a good time to replace that PS2 cable socket with an RJ45... never hunt for that PS2 cable ever again.
