Honestly from the third game onward I'd say the games are better. Particularly the english dubbing is better in the games.

people always be whining over how the story acts before the climax/end are better as if that's not literally storytelling 101. Rarely will you see the last parts of a story outshine the development end(also the series ending before meeting Kushina/Kurama is such a bad take)
