This is a slow Play Along for Sakura part 1 on Shamisen. This is the Bachido version of the song that is being taught in a wonderful video lesson that you can find over here: bachido.com/school/sakura
Sakura is one of the most well-known songs in Japan and has been adapted for countless instruments and is being cited in popular songs as well. It is a true evergreen and a great first song to play on the shamisen.
If you are ready to speed up the tempo, head over to the fast version over here: • Sakura pt 1 | Play Alo...

Nice one. I'm a shamisen player in Scotland and as you can imagine there aren't any tutors here. These youtube videos have helped provide me with understanding technique and tempo

A little late to reply, a banjo player in the U.S. I've found that shamisen tuning translated to banjo (gDGDD) sounds very nice, looking forward to learning more songs from you!

Why black skin?
@ShamisenZentrale
@ShamisenZentrale 2 ай бұрын
I crafted the neck and body from maple which is very pale in color. The fingerboard is ebony, and there's rosewood tips at the head. So the black skin just made a very beautiful contrast!

@ShamisenZentrale Thank you so much for your detailed explanation. But I think you don't explain about the black skin. You explain only about the material of the neck, the fingerboard, and body.

@@Taka-Musics-Labo I see, I misunderstood your question. It's synthetic skin called "Hibiki" - it's very durable and has a strong and full sound.
