35:10 - Gary putting in Eminem on his desert island list was just him trying to be relevant. Like when he put Florence + The Makine on his Playlist show. 38:09 - Further proof when he couldn't even name which Eminem album he liked until he said what song was on it.

Gary just names off songs. He should at least say WHY rock the clash makes him think of the record store. Or was that just a song he looked up that was made during the time he worked at the store? Lol

@@mtnvlifestyles if he made it funny I’d buy it. The book sounds awful!!! Seriously what do we do?? Write the songs down and search them?! If I could hear Gary sing all of the songs I’d buy 1000 copies (or what’s available)

Imus is old! Imus had to get a bimbo wife or else she’d go insane (his wife’s passion is…. Dogs… One of the wealthiest entertainers spends 100x a year on dogs than Sal

It was a book of interview transcripts, which is nothing like a book of lists. I've never seen such straw grasping.

Growing up I never realized but listening back to these shows now Howard is so miserable and hateful whenever anyone from his staff branches off and does something independent of him. He needs to be the only one who’s “creative” and maybe he thinks everything is a reflection of him. He hates anyone being able to say “look I did this on my own”

Howard's books are far more ridiculous. He hates it when someone else gets the spotlight. At least Gary actually knows something about music. Howard thinks Rob Zombie is good. He has horrible taste about most everything (though he tries so hard to be "fancy" nowadays in a desperate effort to be accepted) and minimal knowledge as well.

Yes. The man who thought "Fart Man" was a good idea has no business being acting superior to anyone. Howard's own books are written on the level of a 5th grader.

I loved the book. His stories about his brother and mother were very moving.
