I have just watched this video, you make it look so easy. Perhaps with a lot more practice I will find it a bit easier.

I like your channel because you demonstrate without using high tech tools. I also like the banter you have with Lisse, doing the filming. I also love your workshop ❤️

Mooie schaal Ronald! Conifeer is heerlijk hout om te draaien, het werkt weinig en die terpetijngeur is ook fantastisch.

A wood often viewed as being low quality, ends up as a beautiful and useful bowl. I'm interested to see your new finish on the bowl. As always you explain what you are doing in a clear easy to understand and relaxed fashion, keep up the great work and cant wait for the next project/video.

Nice job Ronald. A well explained process for us turners with less experience. I enjoyed the journey.

Thank you a most excellent pair of tutorial videos i saw in the comments that you normally wait 10 to 16 weeks and longer depending upon the type of wood. But was left wondering how you tell if it is dry enough, do you do it by weight loss or do you have some electronic tool that measures the water content of the wood

Hi Ronald, Lies. Always a joy when I receive the message from KZfaq that a new video is available. Many thanks for sharing and giving useful hints and tips along the way, with a touch of humor: “... developed together with NASA...”. Priceless! As asked by Jeroen how long did the bowl needed to dry? I need some planning to do for MothersDay... :-) Thanks and stay safe! Frank

Ronald.. how much do you charge for a bowl like you just made?
@ronaldkanne
@ronaldkanne 2 жыл бұрын
That'll be app. 60 euro . Depending on size, amount and wood. Most of the time 1 bowl around 80 euro...

I'm working on a walnut bowl. And I also have a lot of tear out on the inside. See if I can get rid of this now with your tip. (If I dare, because I don't want a catch 😕) And as an alternative? Use sealer and then sand a lot?
@ronaldkanne
@ronaldkanne 3 жыл бұрын
I bet you had a catch by now... :-) Sorry for my late reply. Walnut is a very easy to work wood, so if there is tear out on the inside i'd say it is because of technique or the sharpness of the gouge...
@TheTinyWorkshop

@@ronaldkanne I think both. I am practicing on various pieces of wood that I still have. I suspect that I am too late with sharpening. So when I think about sharpening, I am already too late. 🤔😬

Hoe lang heeft de schaal te drogen gelegen?
@ronaldkanne
@ronaldkanne 3 жыл бұрын
Deze schaal was erg snel, met dank aan het type hout. een week of 10 was het al droog. Tussen de 10 en de 16 weken duurt het doorgaans. Afhankelijk van het hout, de omstandigheden en de temperatuur...
