Hats off to the beautiful workmanship and beauty of British locomotives ! We have a lot of nice American live steam locos here but seems far more pride is taken in the railways in the UK . Very, very nice !! 👌

Had a great time on Saturday. Thanks for the invite.

It was a pleasure having you and the other members of Urmston DMES over on the Saturday. The weekend was a great success with over 2300 passengers and lots of visiting model engineers with their locomotives. Hope to see you all next season.

Someone, could you tell me where I can buy a locomotive like that?
@ollieduncan56467 жыл бұрын
This is so much different to New Zealand where it is hard to find 5 inch gauge or less and a functional raised track
@Varinki7 жыл бұрын
I've seen a couple of tracks with 5 inch gauge. But I havent ever seen any 5 inch gauge trains running on them.

Where about is this railway in Sale? Does it run on Sundays like the Urmston one?
@ukmodelengineering7 жыл бұрын
Hi Daniel, the track is in Walton Park, you can find more information on this Webiste: waltonparktrains.co.uk/

lovely engines. Where do you get the head lamps from? do they do them in 3.5 inch scale?
@ukmodelengineering6 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt Seymour, there are lots of suppliers in the UK that sell scale loco lamps and yes even in 3 1/2" gauge.

i wanna know, how would i submit my own miniature loco into an event like this? Do i just turn up or something?
@ukmodelengineering7 жыл бұрын
The events are listed on different club websites, look for open days or open weekends. To attend an event with a steam locomotive you will need a current copy of your boiler inspection certificate and also proof of insurance which normally is provided by your club/society.
@mattseymour86376 жыл бұрын
Thanks for that . Can you send me a link to the suppliers who do the lamps?
I find it so strange that people ride these things. It's an AWESOME model don't get me wrong, but that's exactly what it is, A MODEL.

It's actually startlingly fun to ride them. More fun to do than it looks.

What a rip-off, I didn`t see anything for sale! Miss leading title. Fraud!
@ukmodelengineering7 жыл бұрын
I’m confused by your comment and don’t know if it is a joke. But just in case you are serious at no point do I mention that anything is ‘For Sale’, the word ‘Sale’ is a place in South Manchester and the name of the Model Engineering Society which is based in ‘Sale’ is called ‘Sale Area Model Engineering Society’ or ‘SAMES’ for short, I hope this clears up the matter.

LMS4767 interesting on the name Sale. Being in the states I did not know that. Very good and interesting video.
