Just picked up a pair on sale for $105 and I must say, as my first pair of Solomon’s, they feel absolutely amazing. Suuuper snug fitting and lightweight. Perfect for winter time walks. I usually wear a 10.5 but 11 gave me the width I needed so that’s what I got. Length is still good.

I bought the same pair. They look awesome but I had to return them as they were way too tight. Really hard to get my foot in. Maybe if I went up a full size? Pretty sure they’d be too long then. Anyway definitely go up a half size I’d say.

Completely new to running, I’m also a PE teacher so want something that I can be comfortable in all day along with being to do long walks and some (hopefully) longer distance runs. I am a bigger guy and suffer from Achilles tendinitis, as well as shin splints so is the Gaviota 4 the best shoe for me?

What do you mean by, "the midsole is middle of the road, pretty average for a shoe like this"? I bought a pair of these today and they are by far the worst pair of trail footwear I have ever worn. The midsole is made of concrete and has zero give to it. It's interesting how many reviewers aren't sharing this. Even the guy at REI was like, "Yeah bro, they're stiffer than most."

How much the price of it?

They'd be nicer with a wide toe box and zero drop they look pretty stiff,I don't notice too much flex with you forcing it to bend lol , I think I'll just stick to barefoot hikers
