I could have ordered this but I bought the Glycerin GTS 21 instead, for long runs. My first ever Brooks

Don’t know about that outsole… I feel like if one was to run or step in water the shoe would be slippery everywhere. I don’t think ASICS would want to be responsible for that. Huge liability.

I have just bought them on sale for 85 EUR. I can't wait to open my box and try them out. My first pair of Asics was a GT-1000 9 which was already a nice enough shoe to run and walk in. I will say this about the fit of Asics: I have to completely delace them and redo the lacing, otherwise they're too tight for comfort. Laces run quite short, as well, I feel.

I’m an ASICS nerd, I own several pairs of Brooks and they are amazing, I’m just always grabbing the ASICS when it comes to throwing on a pair of shoes

getting back into running, would you recommend the Hyperion 2 over the Mach 6 or similar lightweight trainer?
@jermainepostlethwaite7895Күн бұрын
I stumbled across this shoe on sale recently and I really really like it ... and bought a wide version unknowingly and it works fine....... no frills .......I agree the pull tab can be done away with..... Running stores have recommended a stability shoe for me and I have ignored it and bought the sexy Neutral shoes instead. The 3d system and nice ffblast+ foam work well for my runs. Have yet to try them on faster paces so I will see how they respond.

Thank you for the reviews! I'm leaning towards the Hyperion 2 at this point since it sounds like a good replacement for my Topo Cyclone 2. As much as I like the Topo Cyclone 2, there isn't much of an outsole and after at 130+ miles, I've worn down most of the lateral side from one of the shoes. The outsole on the Hyperion 2 should definitely last longer.

Horrible sole design on those Altra Provisions. I don't understand why manufacturers feel the need to over-complicate things with fancy designs. This shoe has so many little pits and grooves in the sole that it becomes a magnet for pebbles. Before long, you sound like you're walking around on course grit sandpaper.

I'm not a fan of the exaggerated heel rocker. It's really bad (IMHO) in the New Balance Fresh Foam More V4, though the forefoot cushion was great. I'm gonna try the Glycerin 21 next.

Got my pair yesterday and I had my first run today. My previous workhorse daily trainer has been the Gaviota 5 (I also used the Gaviota 2 &4). I also have a pair of Tempus and Hurricane 23, that I rotate in my runs. I agree that it fits TTS. The upper is comfortable and breathable (we live in central Florida, so right now, it's hot and humid). It's soft like the G5 but a lot more energy return. Fairly smooth on the heel-to-toe transition. No hot spots. Still way too early, but based on my first run impressions, I might be saying goodbye to Hoka and hello to the Hurricane 24 for the foreseeable future. And at 10% lower in price, that's not a difficult decision.

Seems far less durable than EVA, I think I'll stick with my Ugg Slide It. There's no way I'm paying £50 a year for indoor footwear.

I've worn both a good bit. For those that are wondering, (to me) the Hyperion 2 (NOT Max) feels VERY much like the OG/last year's Max, but a tad softer (although still fairly firm), with a better upper, better lacing system (offset), and partially gusseted tongue. The Max 2 feels quite different from the OG/last year's Max.

Would you recommend this shoe for a Hyrox race? I'm sure they would perform amazing during the 1km sprints between stations but how stable and grippy would you say they would perform during strength stations?

I am really disappointed in the Glycerin 21. I have worn these shoes for years, but I have been in an order and return routine with Brooks because both pairs I have tried so far have this huge dent in the right shoe’s toebox. I have found a handful of complaints about it from other people as well. The dent rubs the big toe, so it isn’t something I can ignore. I was considering trying the stealth fit instead but this review makes me think that isn’t a great idea because I really value the toebox space. So I am going to try the ghost max instead.

I liked the OG Hyperion Max much more than the Hyperion Tempo/OG Hyperion, but I’m disappointed that they beefed it up and added a plate. Won the new midsole compound, I think the Hyperion 2 will be a better option for me and will fill the role of the OG Hyperion Max…maybe even better so.

I also felt that the heel grip was lacking but it didnt slip. I tried to go down half a size but the reinforcements around the toebox was rubbing against my big toes. Dunno why they use så stiff material there, absurd

The Brooks rep on one of the other channels i've seen has stated that the Hyperion 2's are going to essentially copy the previous Hyperion Max model. If you put them side, to side, they're not too different. The Hyperion Max 2 is going to be Brooks super trainer line hence the plate. From my experience, they feel very similar. Main difference is the upper but overall it felt great. The Hyperion 2's had good ground feel and they're very light just like the 1st version of the Max. I love the colorways and design of the shoe as well.

Hi Matt! I know that you're using Asics size 13 (30.5 cm). Is your foot length 28.5 or 28 cm? I'd like to know the space between your big toe and the toe cap, which is kinda stiff.

$280 for a shoe? 😅 Is there any proof that supershoes make you actually any faster?
@cjl65456 күн бұрын
Yes, but via efficiency gains. The plates plus the PEBA foams help to propel you forward. But there's more to it than that. When you tire during a marathon, let's say at mile 20, these technologies help keep the legs turning over and therefore you moving forwards! Don't get me wrong, they're not going to replace training, hard work, technique, and mentality - but every little helps!
