As an island we only have the water that is here. It is a closed system .It is essential that we understand the importance of our Riparian areas and Watersheds and participate and cooperate in their protection. What makes for healthy fish habitat also makes for healthy water for all of us. Those who have worked and cared for our streams, watersheds, fish and wetlands over the years have done us an unmeasurable service and gift, and we owe them a huge debt of gratitude. Without clean water we would no longer be able to live here.
