It's that time! We're Salting SUPER ICY Parking Lots! First Impressions of Buyer's Salt Spreader. Finally the dump insert build is fully complete! We had a little 1.5" snow system roll through so we just had to salt lots. It was close to needing a push but we just put the salt down a little heavier.
I also give my thoughts on the buyers salt spreader and share my concerns in regards to the build of the dump insert and the spreader.
Hope you guys enjoy this little video here. Not a crazy storm but I did want to shoot some footage for you guys!

You should get some fluid film and spray on the auger after every use to help clean it and prevent rust.

So sorry to see all the problems. Seems like they were in a hurry to get the product out. All of my welds are solid. Also, seems like your dealer is not good. My dealer installed mine in 1 eight hour day and I waited the entire time. I’m so glad I did because they had questions along the way. This experience is unfortunate for you and I honestly feel bad for you. Not to mention the delay and in turn loosing out on work.😡

Unfortunately my dealer wasn't in much of a hurry since it took about 3 months for everything to be completed. I wish I had your dealer! lol. I appreciate the support pal. Hope all is well your way!

Love the set up man, I'd be pist over those welds. There separating which is not good. Early failure. If your familiar with fluid film its amazing for rust prevention and it stays on pretty good. Its great for coating plows too

You will get it dialed in. Looks like swapping out some of the bolts to stainless may be a good idea. Just goes to show how corrosive salt can be. The rubber flap to keep the salt out of the bed definitely needs to be put on. You are handling the dealer issue with a lot of patience, class, and professionalism. Hopefully they watch your videos and learn from it.

Good idea. It did look like some of that rust color is coming from the bolts. I agree on the rubber flap. Or I'll be dealing with all of that salt every time. Thanks for the kind words my friend!

I did the opposite as you this year. got an 8.5ft stainless v from Dogg. ive only used it 4 times this year, but the money keep rolling in from the contracts. im looking for a spreader for next season. great video, keep pumping them out brother

That is awesome! One day we’ll have a plow set up. But, for now, with the connections I’ve made, being a sub contractor has been great. Also, it’s a learning experience. Getting to see how these large companies operate in their snow division and everything. Been great. Cheers!

So ground speed usually plays a roll as well. So you need to have consistent ground speed. I usually run with my auger on 3-4 and my spinner 7-10 depending on the size of the lot and if cars are in the way. Obviously I crank up the auger a little more if I need to put a little more down depending on the content of the snow.

Bro, sorry to hear the frustration you went through for the dump insert process. Those welds are definitely not up to par. I hate to say this but I would definitely say something to the dealer but like you said, not going back there. I'm sure you will find the special touch on dialing in the salt spreader settings in due time. At least you have 2 options of dumping during the season since you have both dump trailer and insert. I've been debating like crazy on which one I should get. Dump insert or dump trailer. I'm solo/owner operator as well and run a very simular business like you so I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions. However, keep your head up and go get that money. Stay safe brother. 💪

Man, thanks for that. The dump trailer and the insert will be a great combo for our landscape side. Both have their benefits. I will say the best part about the bump trailer is the amount of material i can out in it. Probably 2-3x more than the dump insert. Hope business is going well for you! Keep in touch!

The spinner must be higher then the auger. Sometimes the auger can overload the spinner and it will not spin because of the weight.

Sweet setup none the less! That stainless is nice! 👌🏻 What light bar do you have on top? I would definitely see what can be done about those welds, that’s terrible! Have you tried contacting Byers directly about the whole situation?

Thanks man! I think I need to give them a shout and see what they say. Unfortunately, with how bad the experience was with the dealer, I don't really want to go back to them and I'm sure that is what Buyer's will tell me to do.

Better to go over parking 2 or 3x until u figure out your settings. Take it back to dealer. Let them know fix the issues or loose me and other customers

Definitely. That's what I did just to cover my a** lol. Unfortunately, with how bad the experience was with the dealer, I don't really want to go back to them... Kind of in a pickle

@@terradan6554 the one I went to is north of Dayton. But I know guys personally that haven’t had great experience at their Columbus branch and Dayton. Like horrible experience. I can’t imagine it being much different in Cinci. I would look for another buyers dealer
