Salvador Sanchez - Was a Mexican boxer born in the town of Santiago Tianguistenco, Estado de México. Sanchez was the World Boxing Council featherweight champion from 1980 to 1982. Many of his contemporaries as well as boxing writers believe that, had it not been for his premature death, Sanchez could have gone on to become the greatest Featherweight boxer of all time. He is also the uncle of Salvador Sánchez II.

Admiro mucho a PR porque tengo amistades de allá. Estoy en contra de los malos fanaticos mexicanos y creo que somos más los buenos aficiinados. Wilfredo no es PR y Sal Sanchez no es Mexico. Más muy admirables por lo que representan y son dignos de sus pueblos. Saludos.

Y pensar que Marquez decía que Sal Sánchez no tenía cintura....vallan a mostrarle éste video, por favor. El tipo no solo se defendía sino que utilizaba su defensa para abrir por completa la postura del rival y contragolpear de forma letal....sin dudas entra en el top 5 de los mejores boxeadores de todos los tiempos. What I liked about him was that his specialty was handing out brutal beatings to knockout specialists - e.g. Danny Lopez twice and rearranged Wilfredo Gomez's face. One of the all time greats.

Sal Sanchez has it all the atributes as a bóxer, plus a super cardio like if he had 4 lungs, could fight 15 rounds easily with the same damn energy, speed and power like noone, i couldn't find another fighter with that cardio.

He could have been one of the best p4p fighter of all time. and a very humble man from what I heard and read.

Hay muchos "conocedores" del boxeo qué no conocen de estadísticas, ponen por encima de Salvador Sánchez al finito López(que si perdió con Rosendo Álvarez la primera pelea) , Julio César Chávez, Rubén Olivares etcétera, etcétera, etcétera. De acuerdo a las estadísticas y a lo logrado antes de su fallecimiento, Salvador está por encima de todos los demás excampeones mundiales mexicanos.
