In his video we win a Non runner (no key ) Hyundai i10 from the Copart salvage auction at Sandwich, Kent.

We both work hard to bring you regular and varied videos showing some of the vehicles we work on at the SRUK workshop on a daily basis. Sometimes we also take on longer term projects to fill the gaps when other work is held up or at the paint shop. These projects include the Morris Commercial that was owned by Chris's late Father, the Range rover Classic, and Chris's micro camper. None of these projects are profit making so can only be worked on when time, space and funds allow. I hope this answers all the questions and comments regarding ongoing projects.

an old mate of mine got one of these as he wanted a cheap car. I thought he was off his head. Well, i am eating my words in public as 90,000+ miles later its still humming along with only regular maintenance to its name. I think he’ll be buried in it at this rate. Too small for me but I can’t knock them as simple cheap transport!

Yes those Hyundai cars are great little runarounds and very well geared go through the gears nicely and actually zip along once you keep the revs slightly up...best car to for is the next range up but the one on steriods that IX 20 1.4 Petrol bought a second hand one for my Daughter although not the prettiest car around by any means it is squat shaped yet sits a little higher off the road and a great little utility car...many folks really just don't like them, so they might even be discounted if scuffed up slightly by a older person doing runs to the shops and the like...

Interesting little video....Having now gotten use to your channel ...its fairly clear that you (Rob) are the "Front Man" and Chris is happy to stay in the shadows (as the man with the over all technical knowledge) . Hi Rob and Chris Intrigued with this talk of foreign trip for dental work. Film it, obviously not the grim bits. Lots of us want to know the pros and cons etc of going abroad for remedial/cosmetic dentistry treatment. P s get the rangie done it’s an eyesore👍

I lived in Las Vegas when Hyundai test marketed 2500+- cars In 1990-2 the special anti smog gas ruined the carbs and they were riveted together and to the manifold we had 10 in the breakers yard with less than 15k.we drilled the rivets out put Toyota carbs on them without emissions.and drove them out into the dessert for months. Fun times. Whenever I see the logo it takes me back

Great video guys, my gran used to have one of them, the pre-facelift version before replacing it this year with a Picanto. It never went wrong apart from needing 2 replacement clutches. Noting wrong with the car, just that they live in Guernsey which is hard on clutches. Cheers guys!

Loved my wee i10. It was a fun town car that you really could zip along. It really was good value motoring. Once the bodies been fettled and painted it'll be good for another 10 years / 100,000 miles.

Great videos, I've also been buying from Copart for a number of years, I generally buy cars less than 3 years old though. Quite often without keys too. A good trick for you... When you have a car stuck on your transporter, just reverse the transporter in to your car ramp, lift the ramp up and slide the arms in and just lift the car off the transporter. Then lower it on to some skates so you can move it around the workshop while you wait for keys. Question for you, Do you ever buy cars with airbags deployed? Cheers Stu

My Mrs has an 11 plate i10 what we've had from new with 33k on it, she loves it. I keep telling that I'll get her a new one, but she says she's fine with the Hyundai.....winner winner

It was a gamble, but better than the dogs, horses or anything else with more downside than up. At the price you would have to work hard to do badly. The mileage was low for the year, though the outside is as bad as the inside. The bumpers earned their keep! Whichever way it goes, it should turn out well. I think it might provide excellent video of how to polish a roughed up gem in-waiting back into a piece of jewellery.

You can tell at least one of the previous owners of that car was not in a fit state to be driving, likely due to very poor eyesight and although it hardly did one trip a week they still managed to clout it every time it was out.

I worked for 6 months in Torreon, Mexico and they use those Hyundias as taxis. They are totally indestructable and have a hard life. I asked a driver how long they lasted. His answer? Forever - we rebuild them as and when necessary. Jim.

You could be on to something there - cars like this attract all the money as the market moves into austerity. I bought an 11.5k Chevrolet Matiz recently - not cheap but its like new. I was looking at i10's and with loads of miles dealers were after £2k+ for 100k milers. I bought my wife a Hyundai Atoz with 23k miles 3 years ago for £1450. Been faultless for 3 years.

Looks like every car my mum has owned. Well used 'tactile parking sensors'. By 30k she has generally seen off most of the friction material in the clutch too.
