Salvias are some of my favorite plants! Thank you for the trimming tip for the flowers. One quick question: what kind of lavenders are the ones to the right of the salvias? I'm looking for a lavender to grow as well, but I'd like to find one that isn't too tall or wide because I might want to keep it in a pot.

We are delighted to hear you found the trimming tip useful. It works really well and is definitely is worth doing. To answer your question..... the lavenders to the right of Salvia Caradonna are "English Lavenders" and the one you astutely noticed is Lavandula 'Imperial Gem". A variety that is destined to become much more widely grown once people get to know about it. Here's a link to a video we filmed: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nLKfhqx7x7W2k40.html where I explain about it, and what you can do to get the best from it. It will be available at a host of leading garden centers across our region this coming spring, and if you consult this locator link: www.grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ you will be able to find all the places that have access to it. Finally, if you are interested in researching other types and varieties of lavender check through this channel because we have posted several videos of them too.

@@OverdevestNurseries Thank you for the reply! The Imperial Gem looks so elegant with its tall stalks and vibrant bush. It definitely is an award-winning variety. Would the garden centers (shown in the locator link) be selling seeds of the Imperial Gem variety as well? I think this would be a wonderful gift for my relatives living in the West Coast, and I'm not sure if shipping a live plant across America would be ideal.
@OverdevestNurseries
@OverdevestNurseries 3 жыл бұрын
@@hi_sayri Imperial Gem is a selected clone and therefore will not come through from seed. It is probably possible to wrap up and package a plant & send to the west coast but that would take a lot of effort and be expensive. So maybe it would be better to tell your relatives about it and ask them to be on the lookout at local garden centers, because it is probably only a matter of time until it becomes better known and more widely grown. Meanwhile, you can enjoy it here in our region and be able to relay all your experiences with it.
