Very under rated song from PTX volume II. That was a really strong EP. It had Daft Punk, the original Run to You, the original Love Again, and Can't Hold Us. It is astounding how good they were from the very beginning.

If someone is going to screw up, it's probably going to be Scott. He full on admits to forget lyrics.

Hello Salvo G. I was missing your PTX reactions. This one is just perfect for Valentines' Day. It is so sweet. That arrangement of the introduction is really beautiful. Mitch's vocals are so clean and clear and soothing on his parts.

I will say that imho this is a massive upgrade to the original. That whole part that you loved so much with the overlapping lyrics at the beginning & end is not part of the original artists version (at least not the version with the mv I just watched in the last couple of days - curiosity finally got the better of me). That's something that PTX added, I think in an approximation of the light tune at the beginning of the original that sounds almost like a music box. Even though I bet they could have replicated that perfectly if they'd wanted. However, I much prefer what they did, it padded the song out a tiny bit and opened & closed it beautifully. I believe from my brief research that the original artists are British, same as I am, but I was completely unfamiliar with the song and only vaguely think I heard the name Jessie Ware before, but knew nothing about her. The original sound strikes me as quite an underground britpop vibe (idk if that makes sense to anyone other than me and it probably has a completely different way of describing it lol) too. I could write an essay about the original and how underwhelmed with it I was and why, but I think maybe if you want to see the sharp contrast you should maybe check it out yourself, but idk, maybe off camera. Just, maybe don't have your headphone volume up too high. It reminds me so much of what they did with Gold and how they turned that from an average sounding electronic/synthesised piece to a vocal masterpiece, and how when I went to hear the original after the PTX upgrade I was "meh" on the original & even more impressed with PTX's version lol. I did find it interesting that there were a few lyrics that were in the original that weren't in PTX version and I'm not sure why. During the part where Scott took lead & Mitch answers "fly away" the original then also has a couple other answering line's too, the first (going off the official lyrics for both as they're tricky to catch in the songs) ptx seem they changed one of Scott's lines slightly (from "Boo, I love you but I can't cold-cut to this" to "Live my life, you better cold cut to this") & instead of the answer ("So, just don't cut it, I want you near") they replaced with Kevin's breathy sounds (I can't figure out how to write that sound lol), and then at the end instead of answering ("I'm always here") ptx just cut in with the harmonies instead. I So, unless that line has some meaning my innocent ace mind doesn't know then idk why they would make that line change (honestly, I'm notnsure what either line actually means lol). Maybe they didn't think it made sense or it spoilt the flow of lyrics? 🤷 So anyway, I think PTX took a good idea for a song, that perhaps hadn't been executed to its fullest potential, and made it incredible sounding. They have such a gift for that vision, I think. Sure, it's one thing to take a great song do a great arrangement & execute it brilliantly (like Hallelujah, Bohemian Rhapsody, Sound of Silence, Mad World etc), but I think it's quite another gift to be able to see such potential in a mediocre or even disliked song, to take it and then make it into something amazing. That's what PTX seem to do so well, like they bounce back and fourth between the two. And thenbyou add in their phenomenal originals. Needless to say, I think I've been spoiled by just how old they are. My standards are now so impossibly high for new artists. Sorry for the rambling lol.

I just attended their recent tour, and I know it’s changed some since the pandemic. They do multiple tiers of VIP, with the top tier being the smallest (and most expensive), and includes a private performance for about 15-20 people. I think they do the same song all tour.

Such lovely harmonies, as usual. Confident. Polished. They really know how to sculpt their voices. In the informal video you can see the fellow on the left using his hands describing the shapes. They seem to be perfect to do some serious vocal jazz. Not to embarrass you, but I find it impossible you might not have 'oodles' of volunteer Valentine requests. (you don't seem like someone who tries to be too cute)

This is a hidden gem, not seen by many or reacted to but once I discovered this, it has becone my forever valentine song lol. The arrangement is complicated (for a non-singer like me haha) but they executed it so beautifully. Indeed sweet. The swells are so good. I did VIP in 2020 like a month before the pandemic brought everything to a standstill. The top tier Ultimate included meeting the group and getting a photo with them, getting something signed, a Q & A and a private performance - they did Take Me Home which was amazing. I am seeing them again in March but due to some surgery limiting my mobility, I am unable to do VIP this time around, I'm so disappointed

I never can get over tiny Kirstie is. Most of the time she is wearing heels that make her nearly the same height as Mitch, so always strange to see when she's down on her true level.

you can see them mess up at the end of their live version performance of Aha (in Singapore at the Star Vista), Mitch has the melody if the song and the background vocals are noticably off tempo and Mitch keeps it together and stays his ground and oulls everyone else back together. its the only thing ive ever seen them mess up on (that wasn't from laughter)

The Tostitos in the background of the live version is so PTX.

It sounds the same! also this is one of my least favorite songs they do. which obv still isn't bad! just fyi they mess up all the time, Kirstie and scott forget the words more than any other but scott is the worst at forgetting words they are used to it so it rarely messes them up!
