VERY late to this party, but as soon as he hits the first..."Can I lay...," it's like someone turned on the water faucet behind my eyes and nose. But Mid-Size Sedan did hit it - it helps to have performed it before. It's like when you parents have passed...you don't cry -- as hard or as much -- the more time passes. The emotion is still there...so as long as he lets a little in each time he sings it, you get the same response.

this song never fails to make me cry. its so full of emotion and is sung so beautifully its overwhelming. at the beginning i feel the pain and the soul that went into the lyrics but by the end, im left with a smile on my face that could only be explained by the sheer extravagance of this artist. Sam Smith, you will always have a special place in my heart. watching you flourish through the years has been a great pleasure and i cant wait to continue into 2020 with you.

The song didn't really make it for me, but his voice was so incredibly amazing that I had to like it. Exceptional performance, outstanding and magnificent! He really is one of the best singers alive and even though his music in general isn't really my taste I have huge respect for him and kind of like his music anyway. I mean, you can't say that it's bad music and his voice is amazing so I could just listen to that everyday.

The part that hit me the most is you can tell hes hurting in this performance...the way hes swaying back and forth as if a child needing to be rocked by its mother, the red eyes, and the shakiness in his voice towards the very end.

Such an amazing vocalist. And not just his vocal perfection but how every performance he manages to exude such emotion not just in his face but in his voice without sacrificing his sound. Such an incredible performer. No gimmicks, just singing.

Antrat 1965 I happened to be switching my tv channels a few months ago and came across a concert he did at the BBC and I have become obsessed with listening to all his music now! Amazing voice and kind person in interviews!

I would say one the best contemporary artists; Donny Hathaway has earned more respects than Mr. Smith here imo, but don't get me wrong, Sam's vocals are remarkable.

Its kinda scary how good is voice live. I mean in a recording studio they don't have to change the voice its like okay thats good enough and just slap it on a CD. Other singers have a hard time singer there songs live. Like Adam levine, selena gomez, justin bieber, taylor swift the list can go on and on. Sam smith voice is very phenomenal.
