Helen and I went with some special friends from Las Terrenas were we live to go whale watching in Samana Bay.
we booked with Kim Bedell who is a marine biologist and knows everything about these Humpback whales.
The boat was full and our seats were in the middle so the videos have a lot of the back of peoples heads, sorry about that.
The swell was a little choppy so also the rise and fall of the boat did not help the videos.
We observed many whales and witnessed double breaches which of course i missed on the video.
It was fascinating to hear all about these incredible animals i highly recommend this trip to one and all, the season runs every year from January to the end of March.
The trip last 4 hours and leaves normally at 9am and 1pm in the busiest month of February, with the start of January and end of March only having the 9am trip.
Soft drinks and water are supplied free of charge.
End the day with lunch or dinner at the Santa Bahia restaurant you won't be disappointed with the place or food, although the service can be slow so chill out and enjoy the place.
