I never thought that I'd like a cordless circular saw but found it to be extremely handy. My combo kit saw completely died on me. I too replaced it with the brushless model and absolutely love the brushless one.

Reminds me when I was a young lady growing up working with my dad every weekend. Your son will learn a lot from you. You are doing yourself a favor and don't even realize it. By teaching him all these things you won't have to come do it for him when gets out on his own.😂 Alittle trick for starting those long screws. Start by tapping them in with a hammer about a quarter of an inch. Then when you start it with your driver they will immediately grab and drive in. I've been doing it for years and really saved a ton of time. You will be surprised how much that speeds your work along. You have done a fine job on your project so far.

I would argue that Advantech is better because of its strength, rigidity, T&G, and will take all the weather you can throw at it. I've had a piece outside leaned up against a tree for three years and it's still hanging there pretty good. But I love the look of plywood better! You made up for the lack of a T&G by using the bridging blocks, a very smart move. The off-brand OSB flooring (non-Advantech) will NOT hold up well in moist environments and will flake off around the edges when it gets bumped. I have only used those types inside for extra strength over a subfloor situation...strong but not as resilient in exposure situations.
