The prophet couldn’t have mentioned Pakistan by name as Pakistan became a country in 1940’s. But surely he mentioned that Islam will spread to east and west.

These counties were known as khorasan and bilad alsind. afhganistan and thr carcasus is a small part of khorasan and india with pakistan and other regions were known as alsind. You can check the hadith and the historical names for it. The brother dont need to explain history he only needs to make it simple and understandable for anyone. You can go deeper if you want .
