The crazy part is this is way before sampling became as popular as it is now. People still sampled then but it was mostly much longer clips. Daft Punk was on a whole other level back in the day

I have to agree with a few of them. The difficulty isn't in the process. It's having the ear to notice and then make it sound coherent

This is admittedly pretty easy to do on a technical level now. In 2021. Twenty-two years after they did it, with two decades of improvements in the software used for digital music. This would've been done on some crusty old Amiga software, most likely, and that's a lot harder. People forget just how massive tech improvements have been over the last few decades.

@@meccuterrin the thing is, 22 years after Daft Punk did "One More Time", it's still as good. Not only they managed to pull a sample out of a song, using crusty old early internet software, remixed it in a way that makes sense, then make it an actual song. Not only Daft Punk managed to do all that, but they also made a timeless classic. That takes some insane skill to pull off.

Many skills are easy to learn but hard to master. Anyone can learn to sample but Daft Punk had an INSANE ability to find the perfect sample for their songs.

@@fuxxx21 They also wrote their own original tunes. Not every one of their tracks was just sampled. Also, just because something's sampled doesn't mean it's inherently lazy or bad - it depends on how it's done and whether it recontextualizes the sample enough.

They ripped many tracks into their digital workstations and used beat slicer and software to chop them up - then they just move the pieces around. Acid music software ( now owned by Magix ) was great for this.
