Synopsis:
Set in the 12th Century, a glorious retelling of the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan (Akshay Kumar), one of India’s greatest emperors. I salute Prithviraj Chauhan. After 830 years, he finally achieved his revenge by killing Ghori on the same day. Previously, Ghori had died in 1206 AD. Not only this, but there were only 2 battles fought between Prithviraj Chauhan and Muhammad Ghori, known as the Battle of Tarain. However, in the present, he humiliated Ghori by winning 16 battles. I mean, bravo! Salute to both legends (Prithviraj and Bollywood) for making this achievement possible after 830 years.

see we dont know what happened in that time but in multiple texts from different timelines have mentioned that ghori was killed by prithviraj in some texts it is said that they fought 16 time some texts say 22 times but after the incident other wars were fought bu qutubbudin aibak not ghori.....

As a south indian, i watch bollywood movies in order to make fun of it. Did the same with this movie, but was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. It is not historically accurate, but for its folklore value, i quite liked the overall outcome

This role requires a dedicated actor who would put his heart and soul into embracing the character. Akshay seems to lack this trait. This role should have to gone to someone who would put an entire year to understand and develop the character and not just finishing a movie in three months and moving on to the next one. Yep he did and he is proud of that, he even mentioned it in media that he completed the movie in 42 days. At this stage in his career he is not even trying to do justice to the character he plays, every movie is same for him. I hope he doesn't ruin this epic tale.

Yes, in Bajirao, they included marathi accents and slangs, in padmavat, they included mewari dialogues, and gora badal and Sujan singh actually sounded like a mewari rajpoot.

Yrf is used to making romantic and commercial movies. Making accurate historical movies is not their forte which is clearly evident in this trailer. I wish Sanjay Leela Bhansali had made this movie. This would have been golden. Sadly this will end up like Panipat, forgotten in few days.

The trailer seems fine but a part of me still feels Akshay sir didn't do justice with samrat pruthviraj Chauhan's character. The Charisma is still missing. Personally I feel the casting is not so great, this role was deservable for someone else.

@@brajeshkumar7333 i still feel someone like hritik roshan, ranveer singh or Shahid could've portraid this role in a better way or maybe someone from tollywood industry. This film looks rich with visuals but apart from that, the film is lacking to show the same emotions of that era. Still i am happy that atleast Bollywood is showing us our rich history which was almost on the edge of getting faded away. Although, i wish this film could've been represented in a better way through proper casting of actors.

Director Dr dewadi was proud saying that they completed this historical movie in record time of just 100 days and akshay took only 46. After Watching this trailer, Now I know how! It's so disappointing to see how once you become famous and veteran you start taking your profession for granted so much so that even seconds trailer fell short to show the best of over two and a half hours of movie time.

May be not for akshay, but watch it for great Hindu warrior Prithviraj Chauhan and make it a superhit. The gravitas, the grace, and the ruaab - everything was missing in Akshay. I felt like I am watching Houseful 4's Akshay. Only differences - he got his hair back, and he is trying to be serious. The way Ajay Devgan portrayed Tanhaji, Sharad Kelkar did Shivaji, or Ranveer played Bajirao, Prabhas as Bahubali - that is missing in Akshay. No feelings. At least "Mat chooke Chauhan" should have been added that gives goosebumps even in writing.

Actor should first realize this point that before doing the Historical Character in a movie he should first prepare himself for the role (method Acting)..Any actor doing This type of famous Historical role will first make lessons of hindi speaking, acting skills, way of behaviing.. How director choose Akshay who is famous for his comic role.. Akshay take this role as a joke.. Should learn from other actors who where upto their mark in movies based on real life real life or on historical events they first prepared themselves very well and got so well in their character roles..Director should realize first he should have taken a young Actor playing Prithviraj..Director must have done this movie with Rajput singh. I think Sonu sood will have played best than him..

I miss Rajat Tokas so much after watching this trailer. Even as a kid, he was so convincingly playing the role of Prithviraj, you could feel that this is how the king must actually have been in reality too, Yash raj nowadays is just casting based on who is trending, who is in the news, etc..they aren't giving a shit about talent, project research and appropriate casting..I don't understand, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, single handedly does everything so perfectly when it comes to period films, and YRF, despite of having an armamentarium fail so miserably everytime, especially after demise of Yash Chopra.

Didn't get any goosebumps!!! I think Akshay Sir this time lack clarity in portraying the Legend Prithviraj Chauhan character. These kind of movie requires time in justifying the character. Akshay Sir can't potray the character in just 2 months. No doubt it will cross 100 crores in BOC. I think Ranveer Singh would have been the best choice for this kind of role.

I just watched this movie. In the beginning, I thought this movie is really good how did people not like it. Than as the movie progressed, I understood why. Some people blame Akshay Kumar but I think Akshay Kumar has done a really good job. Movie gets boring because of the non stop commentary on women empowerment. Some Indian filmmakers still don't understand that woman empowerment is not something you lecture about in a movie, it's something you display in the movie without even talking about it. When Princess Sanyogita chooses prithviraj as her husband exercising her powers as a woman is the only part of women empowerment that was displayed in the movie and was also relevant to the movie. Every thing after that was just waste and boring. Specially that Johar scene was the worst. Women wearing warrior dress and dancing before jumping into the fire felt like dancing in a fancy dress competition. My respect for Sanjay Leela Bhansali increased after watching that. He handled Johar scenes really well in Padmavat. They turned a movie about a warrior into a commentary on women empowerment. They could have used that time to show more battle scenes.

You're right!! Even i watched it!! I thought if the director divided the movie in two parts it would have been hit. The story was not properly shown!! Samrat Prithviraj chauhan defeated ghori 18 times and lastly at the 19th time he cheated!! In the movie it displayed that ghori defeated samrat in 2nd attempt!! And your thought about johar was also true. Like dancing and then jumping. I think it's some kind of drama going on!! It's not Akshay sir's fault. He did well!! But this movie was made in a rush!!

Prithviraj is a legend. I personally feel Akshay Kumar didn't look like a warrior in certain way or in any angle. He didn't do justice to play a character of Prithviraj Chauhan. No offense here. It's just my personal opinion. Let's pray that Akshay didn't disappoint us and let's hope he will do justice to this legendary role. Sanjay Dutt and Sonu Sood are the better choice to play their characters in this film.
