I’m a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. I perform rape kit assessments and collect evidence. I have sat with survivors as they cried and processed the trauma they’ve just experienced. I’ve watched them tremble in fear. I have seen one come off the ventilator and died because their assailant not only sexually assaulted them, but beat them so badly to the point that they didn’t survive. I’ve had several others also beaten badly that they had be placed in a coma. I’ve collected kits on children and elderly, men and women. The disgusting garbage that Crowder spewed made me sick to my stomach, and I’m so angry. I don’t know where to start in response to his vile comments. But I absolutely agree he needs to be de-platformed. He crosses he line a lot, but this went too far.

Crowder literally said "I'm not a rapist, but-" and more than once too

Statistically, most rapes weren't due to the monster finding the victim "attractive." They happened due to the victim being in a vulnerable state. Even a cursory glance into true-crime would tell you that, and yet Steven is found lacking.

Men like this say to women who are attractive that the possibility of being sexually harassed/assaulted “comes with the territory of being pretty” and women who are unattractive to be “grateful for the attention”

I was raped when I was 5. When I showed ptsd symptoms my biological "mother" started avoiding me. I wasn't the only child victim in my neighborhood. He did get caught and arrested but my childhood was destroyed along with my biological "parent" relationship.

I am bothered that some throw out rape stats, and pregnancy due to rape stats, when we ALL can surmise many rapes are unreported because cops act like you asked for it, or won’t investigate, or some family or friend begged you NOT to ruin their life - especially when it’s someone close to you. We are threatened, scared, embarrassed and humiliated. After all that, some moron tells us rape numbers are overblown or small - almost every women I have ever met in my 50 years was sexually assaulted in some way. It’s rare to meet a woman who was not.

This is more than just a violent crime, it absolutely ruins lives more than a mere punch in the face could.

I was watching my local news earlier when a story came on about a 22 year old man who broke into a 79 year old woman’s home to sexually assault her. 79 years old. So. Sure. It happens to children. It also happens to the elderly. Wtf does he have to say about that?

From a male perspective, my eyes were opened to how prolifically insidious and rampant rape was in High school. A myriad of my girlfriends confided in me about sexual assault/rape, and how those who committed those acts were those of immense prestige and social clout. Those experiences traumatized them to unspeakable degree, and it had nothing to do with how attractive they were, or what they were wearing. It had everything to do about those young men seeing weakness in a system, and exploiting them, often threatening those girls if they came forward. Often those who aren’t popular or ‘conventionally attractive’ are sought out more often. They have less social status, and are less likely to be believed because they are of a minority group, or aren’t respected by the authority structure of the school. So many times I had to see the people I love break into tears because of how unheard they felt, how they felt their bodies had been defiled, and how genuine affection from other people made them have flash backs to horrific moments they never want to re-live. I felt Emma’s anger echo through me. To see genuinely good people torn apart by such horrible acts of violence, and have a vile demon like Crowder laugh off all rape is sickening. Men like Crowder are actively planting the seeds of disbelief in men, so women do not feel safe to tell the truth. He needs to be de-platformed forever.

The people who say “fact don’t care about your feelings” and 100% more likely to state their feelings as if they are facts. Crowders whole segment was just a bunch of misinformed garbage and I hope someday he understands how vile he is.

If you have to specifically tell your audience several times that you are against rape while defending rape, you're probably doing something wrong.

It’s really easy to understand the horror of rape and the constant possibility of being raped: imagine it happening to you. If you’re a guy, imagine a larger and stronger man attacking you and doing that to you, and everyone blaming you for it. Just really think about that. Don’t shy away from the uncomfortable, because rapists sure don’t.

Steven is such a weird dude. He’s made this point a lot which makes me think he’s put a little too much thought into it. From what I’ve seen sexual assault is less about attraction than it is about opportunity and vulnerability. That’s why you see so many elderly and child victims. Emma is so passionate, empathetic and raw she brings a fantastic voice to all topics but especially the female centric ones. I always feel like she is speaking my own words and outrage. I would ask Emma to never change but I do worry that these issues are so prevalent that it will all take too much of a mental toll on her over the years of her career. So I guess all I can do is thank Emma and hope that she is able to look after herself and have a supportive framework around her now and into the future.

Police treat reports of sexual assault like onerous burdens because they know it's a lot of investment in time and resources on their part with a very miniscule chance of actually getting a conviction against the alleged attacker.

One of the entire points is the MeToo movement was the way that there was an unspoken, unreported widespread problem with people being assaulted and culturally suppressed. I was on summer break visiting my late grandmother in FL when I was 16 when I was raped by a 42 year old man who was a "friend" of my grandmother. After, immediately going to the police station I was given a rape kit then put in a room with a female sex crimes investigator who literally told me that my case was going to end up on the the "back burner" because there were already thousands of rape kits that needed testing before mine. I never heard anything about my case again.

We all need to report that video.
